As someone who fishes quite a bit of Muskellunge, and bites like that are extremely rare. Theres a whole Muskie community on the St John river in NB. A lot of us make our own lures and trade them with each other, or we sell them in the local community. I fish everything including Bass tournaments, but a lot of the guys only fish Muskie and they take it very seriously.

Gotta try Lake Monona here in Madison, Wisconsin where musky are so common that I have caught more on bass fishing dropshot Senkos than any musky lures. For me they are fish of less than 500 casts from shore
