I literally deleted my tumblr months ago, and I redownloaded the app just to consume Our Flag Means Death content. I was a little disappointed the first 2 weeks because there was really nothing. Ep 7 onwards though, it never stopped trending. It was fun to watch the growth of the fandom the gayer it got. 🥰

I'm taking comfort from Taika's tweet talking about "the first season" 😁 He seems pretty confident that HBO will be happy to OK another season...in fact he said in one interview that he feels THREE would be perfect for all the character arcs! 🤗❤

I love how much enthusiasm Rhys Darby has shown for Stede all throughout his interviews. He really likes and understands the character and I think that's a reason the show holds up so well. Great stuff.

I have never loved a series more than I love Our Flag Means Death. Ever. I've already rewatched it several times and it has genuinely made me a happier, more confident person. It makes me feel so understood and cared for in a way I've never experienced before, and I've already made so many new friends by participating in the fandom. That's just the kind of magic good representation can have on people. Thank you with all of my heart to everyone who made this show possible! I can't wait for season 2.

@@valeriverlx what we do in the shadows is one of the biggest ones that people love. it’s a great movie if you’ve never seen it before - it used to be my favorite movie and it’s mostly improv! :) Taika also directed hunt for the wilderpeople which rhys is in, another great movie taika also wrote/directed a few episodes of flight of the conchords which is my absolute favorite show!! it stars his best friend jemaine clement and bret mckenzie (the three met in college and have ben friends for years, mckenzie also wrote the songs for both muppet movies!) rhys plays a big character! they’ve also done a few stand up shows together but idk if any of those have been filmed. hope you check one of them out! :)

For real, I had no idea it was even a show until the day it came out- and stumbled onto the trailer, thinking “I can’t wait until this comes out!” I was pleased I could watch the first two episodes IIRC, but I couldn’t believe it hadn’t been promoted more

I watched this show because I saw Rhys Darby, Taika, and Tim Heidecker were in it, and I love everything any of them are ever involved with. The romance angle took me completely by surprise, and my heart melted more and more every episode. I haven't been this emotionally invested in a show in years. I'll be anxiously awaiting confirmation of another season. Hopefully soon!

Loved hearing him talk about the filming! Is it just me though or does anyone lese get distracted a lot by the animations? There are about 7-14 independently animated objects at any given point and that is not counting the actual interview which gets interrupted by clips twice per minute.. wow.
