My car exploded and my carport caught on fire a few years ago. The first boots on the ground was the sole female firefighter from the squad, and I am forever grateful to her for saving my house. I brought a big gift basket over to them and I remember thanking her specifically! Tell Lexi I got to thank a "girl" firefighter and she was the coolest person ever!!

I bet the fire men and women were so thankful for your cards and cookies. That was very sweet of you.

For the Christmas season our family has done treats for the fire department and police department. One year it was sugar cookies to the fire department. The next donuts and coffee for the police department. Shopping for coffee when you don't drink it is always an experience. Luckily we have Dutch Bros which is good local coffee or so I've been told by coffee drinkers. We also try to drop off Popsicles or ice cream to the fire department on the 4th of July. After all the 4th is the hardest day to be a fire fighter.

So cool… You live so close to us. We have the same Fire Department. My husband is a retired Orlando Police Officer.

I use to tease police officers that no one is ever that happy when they see the police show up but everyone adores a firefighter lol Much respect to both occupations who do what we reg ppl do not do.. Not to mention the pay. You have to think most towns have long since phased out regular paramedics and so firemen are also first responders for accidents or medical help. As well as train to do what firemen train to do in blazing fires. 🐢🐢🐢Cara
