Lol, you'd think, but for some an IR blaster is a must have on their phone. And the FM Radio is more for countries where unlimited internet isnt a thing ... yet 😏 (case in point, MUCH of Asia and Africa)

Negativity about this awesome phone already? I guess you can't please everyone lol. I just got the Galaxy Note 9 in the mail 2 weeks ago and I personally love it so much. the 512GB storage capacity, the low-energy S-Pen, the awesome video/camera quality & the all-day battery (although I don't use too many of the pre-loaded apps since most of them consume too much battery power) is DA BOMB! I'm a full-time Graphic Designer with a busy lifestyle and this phone is perfect for me (also on a personal note, I'm happy that the FM radio is excluded. That is so 80s).

IR Blaster or Infrared Blaster is the same tech used in TV remotes etc. With IRB you can control your tv, air cond and appliances with your phone.

The Note 9 and the iPhone X is the same price but there's so many things missing from the iPhone X like Samsung DeX like feature, Iris scanner, Samsung pay technology, Bluethooth 5.0 Dual Audio Feature, fingerprint scanner and much more

An FM radio and IR blaster were GREAT features back in... 2011 maybe 2013. But as you can tell by the rest of the comments, no one seems to care about those anymore.

It has FM radio enabled tho and Samsung is committed to having the feature unlocked for it's devices (except if your on verizon i believe). I use FM radio occasionally on my note 9 using NextRadio app

This review is really good. You show stuff what this phone can do. Like the lock screen fade in etc. Not like the others who tend to repeat the other reviews by saying the same things. But like real numbers that you found out not just reading the specs and saying oh look a 4000 mAh battery it should last a day easily... you mentioned about the time it takes to charge up. Keep it up. In depth.. but short. This way you can have a good image of a phone. Thank you.

The Note 9 still has FM built in. The Next Radio app is all you need to play it. Not live streaming from the Internet. Use your headphones as an antenna still works.

Btw if you download NextRadio app from the Play Store, it lets you use FM radio since Note 9 is compatible for the service. Lets you tune into stations and everything 😊 even with your data and wifi turned off.

For myself, this phone out classes any other phone on the market. Every conceivable option including the kitchen sink. Most likely phone of the year, once again. When your talking thousand dollar phones this note is actually worth it's price tag!

Omg she is so attractive; everything from her look to the sound of her voice & the very slight hint of an accent. I’m in love! 😍 Great review btw, watching on my Note 9, which is my very first Android device ever. Been with iPhone from the first one to iPhone X, and I have zero regrets switching over to Note 9 despite being heavily invested into the Apple eco system. My only regret is not having switched over sooner. iOS is so boring it’s unbelievable-the Note 9 blew my mind compared to my iPhone X the difference of satisfaction is massive. :)

I don't get why companies that review lack the understanding of a review is THE NOTE 9 is NOT a upgrade for note8 or s9 plus users, its for everyone else, iPhone users, HTC users, Pixel users, LG or Samsung users needing to upgrade. Come on now think GSMARENA, why would someone upgrade who just got an s9+ 6 months ago need a new phone or someone who got a note8 1 year ago need a new phone? Ppl dont' upgrade every year

Hi Angie. I finally changed my Note 4 (EXCELLENT! phone) for The Note 9. As for today It already has android 10. and everything runs perfect. I'm a loong user of the Galaxy Note series. I don't really care on the camera subject. For that I have my "Real" cameras. And you are right (even more now with android 10) gosh...need to take a good time to get to know all the menus. 2:58 how I hate you!!!!!! Thats not a sketch! that's just wow!. I'm pure envy. Well. I only find useless that trend of making the screens curved at the borders. But I just ignore it. Ps: can you draw a Bearded Dragon? See you guys around guys.

Hello,I just recieved my Note 9,brand new,I still have my Note 8 it's in excellent condition no scratches,chips or cracks,I will set up today to beast mode,it has Android 10,and UI 2.5,I can afford any phone but this phone is remarkable,i will take very good care of it,one of the best things is the battery in comparison to Note 8 3300mah,bad decision by Samsung then,this Note 8 has 4000mah much better,a phone is as only good for what you use it to do,cameras do not interest me at all,its hype in overload.

so you are willing to sacrifice the features just for the sake of full screen which will be even more prone to damages and literally every phone will look the same if that happens. convenience is more important imo. i don't have to search the remote if i have to turn some thing on/off that's what true useful feature is rather than a bezelless phone

Excellent Review and this is exactly what I was waiting for. It will most likely be in my lineup for Battery, Speakers, Camera but Love the honesty. Thanks so much for sharing, I'm not in a rush but to me, the upgrades are important.I'm waiting so I hear more and what is coming.
