It wasn't difficult..... hustling Dan Hurd was no problem given our girls are gold diggers. Dan is super nice guy and was kind enough to have us on his claims. The girls did not disappoint, I'm pretty sure they cleaned him out!

We worked the same gravels that early miners worked in the 1860's along the Fraser and Thompson Rivers. Running a highbanker and panning for fat flakes is one of the best ways to spend a weekend. Amazingly there are still ample amounts of interesting gold just sitting in the gravels. Just waiting for some 11 year old to pan out.

That little Dan shake should be called the Dwiggle , I've been subscribed to Dan's channel for a few years . Just a thought, I think it would be a good idea to brand your daughters merchandise with a "Gridlessness" logo for authenticity. I know you can get small branding irons made from sources on the internet. It would certainly personalize the items.

I had a biolight (biolite?) years ago. Hated that thing, but I did love the BBQ attachment. I sold it and got a firebox gen 2 and love it. So cool you got to find some gold. It looks like such a fun excuse to spend a day outside. I'd love to try, but there isn't much out east for panning.

Dan's video brought me to Gridlessness, and I thank him for that. I've spent the last couple of days watching all your videos - they're all amazing in their content, scenery and humor. What strikes me most is the maturity, intelligence and capability of the girls. There seems to be little they can't do, or won't try. You don't appear to over-insruct them, you just let them get on with it while observing and gently guiding them if needed. They are growing into beautiful young women who can do anything they chose, and that's entirely down to you Jeff and Rose. Well done on raising them the way you have.

Black sands look great on a beach. There are some precious metals in black sand, but it makes great hour glasses and other toys. But I wish I had a beach of black sand, and a white sand beach next to it for the hot days.

Gold panning, I used to take my daughter and her sister panning and every time they got bored they would magically find a clinker. For us a clinker was a piece of gold that would make a clink when you shook it while inside the bottle. Fun times!! My renters decided they needed all my panning gear more then I did so if I want to do it again I have to start over from scratch.
