I'm glad you finally trimmed those tree limbs back. I've been waiting for the horrible accident when a branch snags someone and sends them face first into the concrete floor. Everytime one of you walks passed them, I would cringe. Thank you!

The most satisfying part of any build.. dragging a couple sheets of subfloor onto the joists to walk along and provide shade underneath!

this is my first comment I have ever left on a youtube channel, which is funny cause I have been building digital video brands for many years so basically I live on-line. When you talk about the struggle with video I feel your pain, hours of video and moving a camera to cut everything away to try and put together a compelling video. The effort is not lost on me! Keep it up guys, let's see this too the end!

Alyssa, Jessie may be the machine, but you're the fuel!! Don't forget that my dear!! I've been there (in building a business with my husband) and once you start, there is no "off switch" for any reason. Don't lose your JOY, and focus on the end result to inspire yourself. And as hard as it is, you sometimes have to laugh off the stupid mistakes the other one makes......it's not the money, it's the double work and waste of your precious energy (especially when you have so much on YOUR plate)....but love can get you over that hump. Jessie is a good guy for sure!! But omg, sometimes .... grrrr!!! You're both amazing in every other way....so keep going, breathe, focus and remind yourself "this is not forever (this daily building and grind), and one day soon you will be done"..... and it will be amazing!! I'm cheering you both on........and Bugaboo!! 😻🐸

I highly suggest tool belts to hold screws, nails, and tools. You wouldn't have to worry about finding places on the sill plate or other places if you had a tool belt of some kind.

We built from scratch several houses and remodeled several others during our married life. But watch you two work has me wore out watching. Your doing things that took us years of work to do by yourself in a very compressed time frame. We simply lived in a unfinished house and worked full time jobs and built full time over as money would allow. The good thing is we do have fond memories of designing and building all aspects of our homes. Now after 44 years of marriage as we sit on our small lake home we are crazy enough to once more start again. Yes we are crazy.

nothing like a good long vacation right before winter!! Trout fishing,and watching the sun set everyday, black hot coffee on the porch in the mornings with the misty fog rolling out, and the sun coming up, with all the wildlife around. Enjoy!!

Speaking of Scaffolding, you can pick up a "Bakers Rack" (single Scaffolding Unit on Wheels) for a couple hundred dollars that will make the entire rest of your project go along much more smoothly. Just a suggestion to look into.

Just a hint. When you have many "same spaced" boards to attach...use a pre-cut spacer. It prevents mistakes, it doesn't cause them. i.e. the floor joists on 16" centers. Instead of measuring Every one...use a spacer cut to the exact measurement that separates each joist. More accurate and easier. Just sayin.

Watched and help my dad Building our house in the 60's. Best advice he gave is take Sunday off ,and siesta as dad would say, 2hrs at lunch. Mine is build the shop first.

I said this in their last vid. This is super critical. DO NOT USE SCREWS. You'd have to use structural screws if you were, not deck screws.

Wow your patient with those branches. The second time I had to fight my way through those branches to build my house I would have snapped. I would have cut those branches ...maybe the whole damn tree. LOL I watch because I appreciate your effort in building something yourself. I do the same.

Many people mentioned you should have used nails, they are right...ESPECIALLY considering how many times those screws were re-used. The impact puts much stress on the screws every time you run them in and out of something. I've seen many snap on just the second use with an impact.

I will speak for myself, but you are doing a great job videoing, editing and working while doing this is amazing!! You guys rock!! Keep up the great job! On a side note I will say personally I think you guys have a perfection problem which is not bad, but PLEASE don't beat yourselves up for not doing more footage or documentary of this. Your only two people working your asses off and I am sore just watching your videos!! YOUR TOTALLY DOING A GREAT JOB!! Throw down some plywood (do not fasten) on the joists that are fastened. A 4 foot path is by far safer and easier to get from one side to another.

Maybe sometimes it looks like suicide what you're doing, so please take care of you! I've never seen a woman who works so hard, hat off!
