You for got thyme and green onion(sometimes called herbs) as herbs and thyme often go together.I presume the black round to things are a special pepper or what we called cloves

A happy weekend, the kind that hummed with the promise of sunshine and laughter. The backdrop outside Meljean’s window has a beautiful landscape, painted in fresh, clean hues. A perfect afternoon for a drawing competition with friends. And with Razil’s absence that cast a gloom over the otherwise perfect day. Was the prize of the drawing contest - a mountain of ice cream ? Mommy Vingle attempted to concentrate on the artworks when Meljean, known for her quick wit and even quicker artistic talent, beamed as she held up every drawing. Scarlets drawing was a masterpiece. Even though Vingle's visuals overshadow the message Meljean trying to convey, the new sofa cover echoing the curtains flawlessly and perfectly matching the coordinated interior design in the background.

Widespread western/American influences have been integrated into every society in the world, in America itself and certainly in the Philippines

My wife loves crispy pata too, just be careful not to eat it too often since while tasty it is not the healthiest meal. One suggestion, you might put an umbrella container by the door and get 5 or 6 umbrellas to keep there in case of raint or super hot sunny days. I keep yellow umbrellas by my door since they are also alot more visible for traffic safety walking down the road. Two, so what if the visa is a shorter trip to Europe. It would still be time together so go for it! Three, either you or Vingle should have gotten out of the car to open the gate and then close the gate behind you. Not polite to mom to expect her to do it. Four, enjoy these times with Vingle. Who knows where life will lead so enjoy these times and build good memories.

When I make crispy pata, I use my oven to make the skin extra crispy. MJ doesn’t have an oven to achieve the crispiness that she and co enjoy so much

There appears to be a slight change in the family’s shopping habits, too, with a little emphasis on buying more fresh veggies. I say little because it’s a far cry from having a well-balanced diet 😅

@@milanice5730I agree with you there. I can recall the food that we ate when my parents were still with us. Less salt, less oil, lots of veggies and fruits. That taught us to learn to watch what we eat to this day. If only I didn't work long hours, I would have preferred to graze. 😊

MJ, you need to buy insulated shopping bags for carrying perishable food like ice cream, milk, meat, and any food that needs to remain in cold temperature. You can easily find them online or maybe in one of the homeware stores in your city.

@@milanice5730 Keeping insulated bags and shopping bags in the trunk is a great idea cause we tend to forget to bring them when we are rushing out; or we may not have the intention to shop but end up buying stuff anyways. For me, my igloo cooler have a permanent spot in the trunk of my car ☺

Melted ice cream will solidify if it is put back in the freezer. Just be sure that your freezer's temperature is lower than the ref and that you minimize opening the ref's door. And you have to allow a longer time for it to solidify.

When the ice cream melts, its delicate molecular structure breaks down, and all those microscopic air bubbles escape. That's why when you melt and then refreeze ice cream, it's firmer and a little bit smaller on the second freeze: no air to fluff it up. Hence, the texture changes when you refreeze melted ice cream.

Too much of everything for the crispy pata. I suggest you use those spices sparingly , except for the garlic, as those are potent. Instead, use a bigger casserole and simmer with enough water, covering the whole meat to ensure tenderness. That way, you will have a crispier skin and tender meat to enjoy.

I agree. Typically, just a combo of chopped onions, vinegar, soy sauce and ground pepper. I think she said she would normally add chili peppers, but she didn’t have any at hand. I like the addition of fresh lemongrass, though

Mj, what do u do to d water or liquid after u boil in it d pata? Dont throw liquid away, its very flavorful. U can use liquid to cook pansit. Or u can use liquid to flavor your utan bisaya. Just a suggestion, in case u just throw away liquid
