They got married in a village. In villages in south India marriages are very traditional. The vulgar dancing brides are from metropolitan cities getting influenced by Western culture.

It is so mostly in movies and this concept was directed and encouraged by Govt of India in the name of 'national integration' . Don't believe it. Most South Indians I believe follow only thier rituals or they do organize both i e. thier own classic cultural type and the modern ones with big decoration etc. but not vice-versa.
