While you are in the med, i would go to Turkey, i had a yacht there for 7 years and you can always find shelter, amazing cost line, you can even go check out of Turkey and then do the southern Greek Islands for a few months as they are very close to Turkey and then go back again if you wanted to, this would also help with the time you can spend in Europe, as Turkey is not in the EU, also the good thing in Turkey you can work in most of the boat yards on your boat, plus its cheaper there than in Europe. The Turkish are very friendly people and cant do enough to help.

You guys should go to the Eastern Med. It is way cheaper, especially Greece and Turkey. Turkey has tons of islands and protected anchorages similar to the Carribean and Turkey is not in Schengen so you could spend 3 months cruising the southern coast there to reset your clock.

If I was in your shoes, I would enjoy the Med for the 3 months, Cross back to the Caribbean to either haul out during the early months of winter and knock out some boat projects (i.e: 2-3 mo) than splash back in to enjoy 3 months of good sailing season. Before getting into the hurricane season, I would cross the Panama Canal and head to Mexico to Prep for a trans-Pacific crossing and shoot to cross either during May/June of 2024. The Indo-Pacific area ( from NZ-Thailand) is very beautiful from what I have seen from other cruisers. I, myself and my partner, have a 5 yr plan to save up and hopefully buy a decent Cat and start sailing as well! Your videos are very inspirational to us who want to experience the world with our own 2 feet! Cheers! ❤

The Caribbean is a great place to haul out to do boat projects for sure. Esp since they actually let you work on your boat yourself if you wanted (which we very much do) That’s exciting! Best of luck on all your planning and maybe we’ll see you out there one day

you're already here in the Med. There is plenty cheap places here (Ibiza is certainly NOT one of them. But Croatia, Greece and others for sure. In Greece you can even find FREE mooring over the winter months - just saying... Out of shengen Turkey can be sailed all winter, and you have more non schengen countries nearby. Also Tunisia is a lot cheaper, out of schengen and yet VERY close to Sicily. Marinas are cheap in comparison but also cruising is possible in the area.... There a loads of options in the Med, only stay away from the Hotspots (Ibiza, Malorca, Kos, Korfu etc. and you will save big time already)

I'm no sailor, but I have plans to become one within a couple years. With that being said, it would be cool to see you make your way back to the Caribbean after your adventures through the Med. After spending some time in the Caribbean, make your way out through the Panama Canal and sail up the West coast a bit. Then make way to Hawaii and spend time there, then head down to visit those nice Islands in the Pacific like Fiji, Tahiti, Cooks Island etc. Then make way to New Zealand, then Tasmania, then up the Coast of Australia stopping by Sydney and Brisbane. Then make way stooping by all the islands in the Indonesia area and checking out Singapore. After that, I haven't given much thought where to next as I hear great things about Singapore and may decide to make that a permanent residence.

The easiest part of cruising the MED is Greece, especially the Ionian. Always a protected anchorage aroung the next corner and very steady and predictable weather. my thoughts are that you should look into a digital nomad visa. This would eliminate the 3 months you have to leave the treaty area. I would also price out Greece as it is cheaper there, and my be a good spot for you to hide out. You wouldn't have to go far to see another island. Check out sailing Atticus they have a nomad visa

Do you really... wanna bring your winter clothes out of storage again? Belfast wasn't bad enough you? Return to the Carib- down to San Andreas- maybe Cartagena, then the Panama Canal- to Baja, Sea of Cortez. You could from there head to... Hawaii or points south like Tahiti. Kool drone shots- with the music was specialous. Thanks for the view- Steph & Travis. Enjoy the Med with the time you have left, then get the hell out there. See some- then done. It's cheaper on this side of the pond to your cruising budget or lack thereof- just say'n.

Another awesome video of your adventures. Yes, I guess the time has come to decide what when and where you want to do for the winter season. Expenses is most likely the biggest decision. Carribean possibly the Panama Canal to Pacific sail and play on the west side of North South and Central America. The maybe cross Pacific to French Polynesia and the other Island countries maybe head to Indonesia Thailand Philippine's, Australia, New Zealand the decisions are never ending. This is a small world, but a lot to see and experience. I'm sure you will both make what decision is good for you and the lifestyle you wish to live. Be aware that some mediterranean countries do not permit foreign sailors to work on their own boats when they are on the hard. These countries do so in order to ensure that the resident boatyard workers have enough work. Consider somewhere like Tunisia for wintering. It is not in the schengen zone and you can choose a very modern secure marina there with good facilities at a cost of around 1500 dollars US for a years berth. The labour is cheaper there and you are free to do your work. Drop me a message if I can help you out.

hi travis and jacinta is it. enjoying your videos, so thanks for sharing your journey with us. the yacht you chose is an interesting one, i watched lady k sailing comments on the hunters and their history. there is even one for sail at eden australia and tempted to get it but wont. since your fuel tanks are under your bed, do you hear the fuel sloshing about in the tank when at anchor. how does jibsea sail?? havent as yet watched all your videos as it is a pain , for me, to scroll back to the 2nd then the third etc but i will work it out. so with the lead keel with a wing, does jibsea point ok?? and what sort of speed do you manage?? 6.5 7 even 8. an intersting and very dangerous place you couild try, i have considered it, sailing from burnie to strahan via the west coast of tasmania australia. cheers , i envy you must be terrific.

We wouldn’t be crossing during that time period. But yes, as each policy is different it’s important to note!

Didn't Plukky, Kika and Dan and others get extended Schengen visas - 6 mnths? Some here suggest to return to the Caribbean. No no the Med has sooooo much more to offer in terms of culture and "fun" things to do and experience - and since you don't free dive and fish to much, its all the same. Others suggest Turkey - yes its outside Schengen so you can go there to provision/maintain boat and then head straight back to the Greek island (after summer with the massive tourist invasion).

There is certainly a lot to do on land here in Europe but we miss spearfishing and catching our own food like we did back in the Bahamas. It was an underwater grocery store we’d visit prior to each meal. Whereas it’s trips to the grocery store here! (Albeit very good grocery stores!)

Hi guys. I don't no if this helps, but a lot of cruisers go to Turkey for the winter. I think that's because it's not a shinghan country. What the hell is that anyway?

Ya it’s a popular spot we hear! Schengen countries have a rule that non eu visitors can only be there for 90 days within 180 days. Sucky part is the majority of the countries were interested in seeing are part of it 😖

Admire what you are trying to do but I think you’re in over your head. Sell your boat and pack it in. Sailing around the med or the Caribbean is a luxury pursuit and can only be done safely for those who have the financial heft. However that’s my view but best of luck and love the channel!

We’ve met cruisers with all different sized cruising kitties (some with very very little, and some bottomless) in the countries we have sailed and it’s merely a matter of how you choose to live while cruising.

Ehem, you guys are aware that neither Turkey, nor Cyprus are part of the Schengen zone, yes? And of course neither is Egypt, if you want to stage an exit towards the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean.

Yep we’re aware but it’s also where that presents us in being able to get to for the next year. So lots to think about!

I heard Greece is very reasonably priced, if you plan on going in that far.

Yeah it’s the whole staying at a marina again for 7 long months that’s a big deterrent

You guys are two beautiful people, I could watch you both all day, however, your videos are a little boring. Talking to the camera for 8 minutes? That's easy for you, but boring for us. You have to put a little more effort into these videos. Write a script, story, outline, something. No more winging it.

Thanks for your feedback! We don’t write out scripts or make up story lines. Our vlogs keep it real just showing what goes through the day to day and when we’re trying to explain our thoughts, some vids may involve more straight talking than others (which some people may appreciate and ps: title on the thumbnail indicates “real talk”) but if it’s not for you then maybe the next one will be more captivating for your personal liking
