our lady of good health also known as our lady of velankanni. The velankanni festival commemorates the miracles that occured around the site of the basilica that date back to the mid 16th century attributed to 3 separate miracles believed by devotees to have been worked at the site.
1st Miracle : The apparition of blessed maryy & the christ child to a slumbering shepherd boy,
2nd Miracle : The healing of a handicapped buttermilk vendor,
3rd Miracle : The rescue of Portuguese sailors from a deadly sea storm.
