Күн бұрынThis month we tested the latest solar generator model from Bluetti, the AC180. A smaller and lighter battery than we have previously used, but with some very big improvements to the invertor. We can still use all the different power tools we use here on our off-grid property, without fear of it shutting off due to a high power surge. A very useful piece of kit!

Suggest that you put in a tank higher that most of your property so that you can fill it when power is available and let gravity provide the water you need after that, much like the farmers did in the 1900s in the US.

Honestly, I’ve never seen them go above 160 watts (they can do max 200). I think they’re nice for traveling, but for a decent home set-up it’s more economical to get normal panels.

That was a great commercial! Having been a carpenter for 30+ years, I have seen a lot of expensive, brand new, straight out of the box, generators burned out inside of a week or two, trying to accommodate (roughly) the same kinds of power issues. This seems to be a (proven) great, feature rich product. How will it last? We hope to see, that you will keep us in the loop. Thanx for sharing, God bless and until we meet again! P.S. Great information on the Bluetti. I have no success with my hands on the touch screen, so the button is a great plus. I was recently exploring your link as my current solar shuts off and leaves my greenhouse powerless and frozen. I use water to heat the greenhouse and support my fish. A small heater stops the ice forming and has worked well until I switched to all solar. Certainly, I have not put enough time into the process, but my solar is very limited. I hope to make better choices in the future.

Thanks! That sounds like a great set-up that just needs some tweaking. In our experience battery storage is key, especially in situations like yours where it will need to run at night mostly. Let me know if we can provide more insight :)

You might want to water your plants/ seeds right before sunrise, or right at sunset for the best results🙌🏾💯

I still have a difficult time orienting the locations of your property, ie: New building spot, terraced garden spots, well and current home. I know this probably isn't important but it's just my weird feeling of being lost to the surroundings.

You are lucky having a water supply on your land, here in some parts of Devon and Cornwall we have a hose pipe ban, watering the plants and hosing a car can only be done by using watering cans, this ban can go on till December if the water reservoirs don't fill up with rain.

I think this will be a very dry summer for much of Europe, we were lucky with all that rain in the fall but it has been very dry since. Washing the car is definitely not a weekly thing in the summer 😅

How much is the unit ? How long does it take to charge ? Will the unit stay charged if not used .

Sorry, they couldn't give me a price yet. Will be out on May 15th. If you charge from the grid it takes about an hour, which is extremely quick compared to older units. It was discharge VERY slowly I think, so good to check every few months if you're keeping it for an emergency.

@@kavanobrien6547 It can take maximum 500W from solar, so then it will take up to three hours to charge fully. I think it discharges very very slowly, but not sure how long it takes. Good to check on it every few months if you have it in storage.
