You appear to be very devout in your faith, doe your husband share the same level of devotion? Wondering why he does not have a beard? Asking the question for understanding, as I thought the beard was as important as the hijab. I do see a shadow of a beard.

Beard is "sunnah" meaning it was the practice of prophet pbuh. It's not compulsory, but it's preferred. Hijab on the other hand, is compulsory. It is stated in the Quran. However, some muslims disagree with the meaning of the actual verses and hadith regarding Hijab but that is to mostly justify not wearing it.

The other reply explained it, but also the concept of hijab, or modesty, is not a female-only thing in Islam. Men's hijab, in terms of covering clothing, is from the navel to the knees (or just slightly above the knees), and they are expected to keep a lowered gaze and not ogle at women, and talk with them respectfully among other good-person-behavioural things (unfortunately many people seem to forget the interior aspect of hijab, even some women).

@@nazz5556 Nope, beard is a Wajib sunnah (mandatory) it's actually said to be a sin to shave it for men, just as it's a sin for women to not wear hijab as it is a conspicuous show of her faith for all to see and respect. Similarly, the beard is meant to have the same effect, people who see it will recognise that he is a Muslim. If it was Mandoob (recommended) or Mubah (optional), it would be stated. The prophet (SAW) ordered it which necessitates it to be fard.

The judgement, after quoting the footnote 3760 to Verse 53, (from the referred Holy Quran), observed, "… In the wording, note that for Muslim women generally, no screen or hijab (Purdah) is mentioned, but only a veil to cover the bosom, and modesty in dress

@@Chirp-chirp I didn't comment this because I want to call them out for what had they been doing before but instead because people might think it is acceptable to date with the opposite gender and be boyfriend and girlfriend, even without touching, a man and a woman cannot be alone together unless they are married because in Islam engagement does not entitle us to be alone with the opposite gender. I am a revert too,but if someone is just learning about Islam, I believe it is better to give an information that will prevent misconceptions about our deen

A food court, crowded park, mall) be okay? I'm saying this in terms of if you went out with friends (I'm a girl) and one of them brought a guy and you all sat together
