In today's video we check into Disney's Polynesian Village Resort for a fun family staycation on Christmas night. I give you a tour of the brand new Moana themed rooms which is the room we are staying in for the next few nights and I also show you a Disney Vacation Club studio room that’s themed to Lilo & Stitch. With that come with me as I show what all you can expect from staying at this deluxe resort on the Magic Kingdom monorail line with a walking tour of most of the hotel grounds which includes both pools, all of the restaurants, transportation options and the amenities. We dine at Ohana and Captain Cook's for dinner plus brunch over at Disney's Contemporary Resort at Steakhouse 71. I would not turn down either room. As a family, we stayed in a concierge room in the Hawaii Longhouse back in the mid 2000s and it was wonderful. We had a first floor room with a patio and had a brief in room visit by a Disney duck. On my last trip to the World in 2017 (as a solo, widowed, empty nest, retiree) I stayed in the Sheriff Woody building at the All-Star Movies resort and it was just fine for my current circumstances; no complaints. That said, if finances allowed (which they don't; wah-waahh) I would also go for the Moana themed room. And yaayyy! Hei Hei, the Poly rooster!

I'm 46 years old now and ever since I was about eight years old every other year I need to stay at the Polynesian or the Contemporary and I have to say the Polynesian has always been my favorite between the hospitality the food the activities the atmosphere the Tranquility of being in the tropics and just staying at such a beautiful Resort hands down is the best in my opinion

What perfect timing. This video couldn’t have come at a better time. We’re staying for the first time at The Polynesian for a week at the end of January. I’ve only visited one time before, last year we stayed at the Art of Animation. This trip is for my sons college graduation gift. So I wanted to combine the feel of Hawaii and the fun of Disney. My son hasn’t visited since he was three. 22 years later I wanted to make it something special, and I think I made the right choice. We have various reservations at some great restaurants. I’m counting the days. Thank you for your continued great vlogging. Happy New Year! 🎉

The Polynesian is the only place I'll stay. I'd rather go less, save up, and stay there, rather than stay somewhere else. It just makes me happy. I've stayed at the Contemporary and Port Orleans, too, but there is nothing better than the Poly. And your awesome video only made me wanna go NOW! 😂😍

I loved that you showed us both the DVC and the standard room. As a DVC nember and a huce fan of the Polynesian Village Resorts, I do prefer the DVC room for three reasons number... proximity to ticket and Transportation Center it's easy to hop on the monorail to get to Epcot or take the boat across to MK. I love the size of the DVC rooms and the split bathroom. There's a table to eat at or coffee table to put your breakfast on if you're sitting on the couch. But I must say I think the Moana rooms are beautiful. Thanks for always presenting a fair and honest review.

I love your room at the Polynesian! With all the complaints on newly refurbished rooms at other resorts I thought the Moana room was beautiful and very well themed. What an awesome way to spend Christmas!

We stayed at the Poly years ago when the kids were younger. Love it! The feel, the view of the fireworks off the beach. Boat or Monorail to MK then Monorail from TTC to Epcot.

Looked like an amazing stay! My last visit to WDW was pre-COVID at the Poly, and my family loved it! I could stay there for a week and not even go to the parks. I will be back for my first visit since COVID in March to stay at the GF for the first time ever! We are celebrating my daughter's 21st birthday in Epcot. We are so excited!! I agree with you about staying on the monorail loop. Can't beat it!

I actually got to stay in the Polynesian the very first year disney world opened!! It's still my favorite resort! My parents have both passed but I still feel them around me when I am there If we don't stay there, we always visit and try and get reservations at ohanas our favorite restaurant on disney property!

We love Poly!!! It is always bittersweet when leaving. Good to know about O'hana for dinner. We were there in Nov 2021 for breakfast and it was not good. Coming back in Nov 2023, maybe we'll try the dinner menu.

Stayed at Tokelau pre-refurb and stayed at a bungalow last February. I love the Poly so much, I even have several Maui tattoos (Moana Maui and Poly Maui) I prefer the vintage decor over the refurb. But I feel the refurb is way better than some of the other newly IP themed rooms (cough..contemporary..cough) Loved the video! Happy new year!

Love the Poly ! We stayed in a DVC Studio room in Tokelau last July and man ... that extra bathroom is a lifesaver. The newer Murphy Beds are incredibly comfortable as well. You really can't go wrong staying at that resort - just great ambiance and the staff is incredible.

Thanks for bringing us along on your family staycation at The Poly. I am envious as my wife changed our booking from Poly to Villas at The Grand Floridian . I can no walk back but construction makes it a little more difficult .

I like the new room but the DVC room with the balcony is my favorite -We were there years ago and I love the new updates but have very fond memories of our times at the "OLD" Polynesian and am sorry they've done away with the Luau area for a newer high rise --I think that was a very poor decision --thanks for sharing

Great video Dev..stayed there in 2017 in the same building “Rarotonga”…v convenient. Remember at the time hallways, rooms and lifts especially were all in really poor condition. Resort itself enjoyed it & you do get what you pay for. Would much prefer the standard Moana room and these along with Mary Poppins design at the Grand Floridian are easily the nicest ones yet. The Poly rooms were in real need of a makeover and really glad to see that they have done a nice job. I sincerely hope they have done the lifts (it’s a small thing I know but they were v poor & dirty). Anyway great all round and would love to stay there down the line hopefully🤞😀

What a great stay! I love how bright the Moana themed rooms are! We stayed in a DVC room, which was great, just a bit darker themed like the exterior. I prefer the bright colors in the renovated rooms. I do t care much for the character teeming, but I do love the renovation and keeping theme with the Poly

We stayed at the Poly for the first time in December and it was incredible. It’s really a special place. We are DVC members so stayed in DVC studio. We toured the bungalow which was fun.

Dev that bread pudding looked so amazing! I was just at Disney World for Christmas with my family and we dined at Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge and they had a special Eggnog bread pudding with Cranberries just for the 25th. I feel like you would’ve absolutely loved it!

The other thing I wish the new rooms had were the ceiling fan, as those are extremely useful in the summer. I'd rather have that than the big chandelier

I have always order the Lapu-Lapu without the pineapple, it’s about five dollars cheaper and I cannot hold a pineapple, they’re too big and prickly!!! 😆🤷🏼‍♀️🍍 but what a perfect way to spend your Christmas and day after, love it! I love the Poly - I spend a lot of time there, but have to yet to stay 😩😄

thanks dev and bianca .... wife and i actually would pick the std room ..but it's mainly due to the view , balcony and we don't like ground floor.... have a great 2023 and beyond
