What an awesome channel. The fact that this channel is heavily into the technical side of building cars and lighter on trips which is really unique compared to all the other 4x4 channels. As a fitter machinist I'm super excited for this next build

Love to build a 40 series Labd Cruiserfrom the ground up. But living in France that not really an option. Might have to move back to South Africa to build my dream "Kalahari Ferrari". This is great news. As much as I enjoy the vids of your builds being put through their paces, it’s the fab videos that drew me to your channel. I have a 2004 Toyota Tundra crew cab w a 4.7 v8 (not sure if you have those in Oz) it’s mostly a work truck but, do go off road at times. Cheers Richard.🍻

Sorry, not related to this video but looking at the nice shiny paint in the back ground. How has the valspar tb540 held up so far on the body?

Very happy with it! 30k and plenty of 4wd tracks and has held up really well. There’s no clear on it either.

@@bennyjahmin3953Seems like an appropriate place for my $0.02 worth. In the ~6 years my 80 has been entirely covered with TB540(12 litres), it's only failed in both rear wheel arches, which is probably only for two reasons, they were the only places to miss out on epoxy primer(ran out) and I never grew out of drifting it on gravel roads/tracks. By failed, there are a dozen or so 50 cent sized spots of bare metal, but whatever the TB540 leaves behind, stops any rust forming. If you're going to bare metal, I'd suggest using an epoxy primer and where it's going to get gravel spray, go over it with Raptor or similar for added protection. For bush pin stripes and staying put on panel damage, TB540 has to at least ten times better than factory paint.
