If you overclocked it you might have audio/video timing issues. Along with the recording media might skip lines or frames or get corrupted.

+Squish Parodies viewing in the non native format would create black bars or a stretched picture, unless the uploader were to provide two different videos, one in 21:9 and one in 16:9. In that case, they made as well upload "Our New Favorite Camera (21:9)" and "Our New Favorite Camera (16:9)"

What the hell are you talking about? Sure the shots are good and the editing is very good but the dude has totally crushed black levels due to luninance mismatch between 0-255 and 16-235 and a fux0red LUT table.

KZfaq actually supports any kind of aspect ratio, the player just adds the black bars in the 16:9 windowed mode!

Linus Miller People who own 21:9 monitors. Most films are shot in 21:9, and many games support it too, so the experience is superior in almost every way.

It's because not everyone exports from their NLE in widescreen. Most youtubers will export in 16:9. They all just use the "youtube" preset in their editor. But Brandon actually knows what he's doing and properly exported it in widescreen.

He basically killed 30% of the vertical resolution in doing so. Not to mention his luminance range is totally fucked thus the blacks are crushed. Total f'ing hispter douche amateurs IMHO. Dude doesn't seem to understand what a LUT is or what 0-255 vs 16-235 luninance range is.

+Facehunter2003 I was in the same place as you, so I got a job and have a beast of a streaming setup but now I don't have the time or energy to stream. I would recommend trying to stream even if your video quality is shit, if you have a good personality and an entertaining stream people will come. you can slowly upgrade over time.

I pre-ordered this last may but cancelled it after waiting for 6 months of delays. I eventually opted for the Sony FS5 because of storage. Sure the Ursa Mini would have better image quality, but I didn't want to spend additional thousands on CFast cards and a RAID bay just to be able to use it. Also RIP 6-axis gyroscope. Of course if money is no option, this is the one to get.

The experiment: Take multiple computers (done virtually), have them all start at youtube videos (some same, some different, with possible location difference with VPN), then leave them running with autoplay constantly loading the next video. Then check back after a week and find out what video they ended up at.

Update your screen to a 21:9 then this video did look perfect to me. Jokes aside the camera is for cinema (hence why 4.6K) so to show the footage it is better to put "black bars" than crop the sides (unless you area flight company in which case you often crop and cut content)

Its a film camera. Usually they shoot in 21:9 as movies are shot in 21:9. With that resolution you could crop it to 16:9.

In fact, 21:9 is not the correct way to describe the aspect ratio if we are talking about movies, and almost zero movies are shot in 21:9 / 2.35:1 / 2.39:1 / 2.4:1 as I know. the ARRI Alexa native resolution is around 1.6:1 in open gate mode, and the RED cameras are around 2:1, they will use the extra resolution for VFX and stuff. and if we are talking about anamorphic on 4:3 sensor, the ratio is 2.66:1, still nowhere near 21:9, but they will crop it to 2.39 or whatever they want for release.

This is a low budget for a BUSINESS.. If you were to start a business that would require tools ( almost all businesses) you would first have to get funding to get you started. Maybe first use a really decent steadycam, and when you're turning profit you'll be able to think about purchasing something like this. Owning this camera as an ordinary consumer will fuck up your bank account to say the least, yes.

Manufacturers switching from 16 : 10 to 16 : 9 also had some very strong economical reasons. Manufacturers switching from 16 : 9 to 21 : 9 predominantly? Will never happen. For so many reasons. Sorry :)

My nigga Jonathan has a point with his analogy. Although the ursa is great and gets the majority of the jobs theres still benefits to having a more expensive film camera such as the sensor and quality. I'm gonna let google tell you for yourself the differences between a cheaper cinematic camera and a RED camera.

Especially when the only benefits it had over the blackmagic is 2 stops of dynamic range and extra resolution. (While this is significant the extra features are not really being fully leveraged by LTT and questions why they spent over 100k to get them).
