We are a kiwi couple who are starting a new life in India, Yasmeen's teachers have called her home, join us on our journey.
We arrive in Goa for some much needed down time. Staying in south Palolem for the first half of our time of rest. These beautiful beaches ask the question, Palolem or Patnem? Our answer may surprise you.

I was here in 1984. There was 6 westerners plus me. 1 light bulb on the beach at night. Not one hut all anything else on the beach. Not one shred of plastic to be seen all water bottle all can all TV. Just sea sand and coconut trees. Spent almost every winter there for 15 years. It remained almost unknown to the world until 2000. Pure heaven.

Damn that sounds utterly idyllic, there is a certain tragedy to constant growth and development. Yet the charm that drew the early travelers like yourself remains.

@@yasmeenandjono I was 21 at the time. First time out of Europe. I could hardly believe my eyes at how butifull pololem was. I was paying 5 rupees a night to stay with a family. The people back then where like angels completely untouched by the modern world. It was incredible. Thanks for the like.

Just want to say that this video was amazing , you stayed in my happy place , we go there to also unwind , and i have done the kayak out into the waters right near where you stayed .i find this place to be my favourite place in the world , where time can just pass by and you certainly can relax. i love the little streets and how each day is lovely when you are in Palolem . my heart opens when i watch your devotion to each other and a new life ahead .i really am so glad that i found your channel take care , kind regards Greta

Patnem is just too good.. right next to crowded Palolem but the vibes just change as soon as one enters Patnem

Just found your brilliant warm channel We are a couple from the states currently living in Meherabad about 3 hours north of Pune We’re heading to Palolem for a quick hurrah before the monsoon and wanted to know the name of the resort near the rocks with the lovely white cottage you’re starting off at All the Best M & H

Thank you for your kind words. We stayed in Pacific Sunset View Resort. (Although the view is over the Arabian sea). Magic location, pretty basic accommodation at around 5000rp a night. You pay for the view. Fantastic staff and good food. Really enjoyed our stay there. It will be super quite now. Have a great time.

Hey guys.. please make a video explaining.. why you moved to India.. what motivated you to leave your family, friends, home & country to make this journey.. also why Rajasthan.. any particular reason.. cause it may get hot in peak summers.. sorry for asking so many questions.. i am just curious.. & i am very happy you guys chose to live here despite all the negative stereotypes. 😇

@godsnkingsajan7190 we stayed at the Pacfic View Resort. 2.5 star accommodation with 5 star views, wonderful staff and great food in the restaurant. But it's the quite cove that sits in that is lovely.
