You need to find another feed store!!! 16$ for cubes? We use cubes to make them do tricks like get into the corral or trailer lol

I get my normal feed at the feed store for $10 a 50lb sack, they don’t offer any cubes, so we get them at tractor supply for $16 for the 50lb bag, they love them as a snack for sure!

Boy steers like this were going for like 6-700 the other day. I got a longhorn steer about 650-700 lb for 510$ though.

He only weighed 160 at the auction and we paid $2/lb, but there were some black steers that sold for $4.02/lb, most I’ve seen

@oldpecanhomestead that’s awesome about the longhorn, do you grow them out for meat or just have them as pets? I’ve never had any longhorns

@@powellpasturesfarm yeah they go for a lot at those weights. Usually they head to winter wheat pasture this time of year and they plan to make they're money back on gains. We are just trying to put meat in family friends and our freezer. That herford will make premium beef though. I have some good cows that should be calving soon and some heifers to breed the idea is to not have to chase them down at auctions.

My two cows are both going to drop babies in the next few months, so looking forward to not have to buy too many more at auction myself!
