Walai daddy freeze, this guy is on point -- I did car business in Nigeria from 2012 to 2017, and I closed down everything and ran away from Nigeria. Nigeria system and the people are freaking hostile and the NCS, is the worst people on this planet. You may think police is the worst people in Ngeria, wait until you do any business that requires importation or exportation. What broke it for me is when my boys was delayed by custom on the road because the custom personnel was angry because we paid full duty on our cars - and now asking how his boys go chop. I still have to find him and his boys almost half a million because it was 4 cars on convoy. its hell doing business in Nigeria. I don't have the streght to be a Nigerian or to do business there. So sorry to hear that. So painful. For those planning to do transport business, have cameras installed, that are wired into the ignition system. As soon as the key is turned, recording starts. Setup a system of archiving the videos for later review. Everything must be automated, otherwise, they would tamper with that too. You must also install GPS, with history. If you don't do these things, your transport business can never succeed in Nigeria.

Most times you get what you paid for. When you employ, you want professionals not charlatans. But the question is are you willing to pay for professionals or for people to be profesional on the job. We underpay ourselves a lot in Nigeria, pay people wages that cant make them earn a proper living and still expect them to be honest. The chances that your worker will be sluggish with your job when it pays so well is lower. Ask the guys that work in the Bank waking up by 5am and closing late. Its the pay that motivates them.

@@giftedchild9490 believe me your investment should be able to buy you nice apartments or bungalow when you are ready to retire. In 2011 I was opportune to buy a foreclosed condo in Chicago area for $55k then took the rest of my saving move to Nigeria to start car business. Guess what? people ended up owning me and they still have not paid till today. Some of them are politicians (e.g senator Ya’u from Zamfara). The condo I bought for 55k now value for over 450k. I also bought a land in abj for 11m in 2014 but guess what with the building I put on it will not even give me $130k. But if I sell one of my properties in today in the US and move to naija I can get a nice build in the location I want for less than $150k. Nigeria does not have stable economy yet so why gambling with your money. Evening if you don’t have business idea in the US, pay off your mortgage you can always get HELOC or Loan on that property when you are ready to retire or sell it if you know you are done with US.
