Williams have never really been the kind of team to boot out a rookie after one season, unless they are very bad. And if anyone is going to get the Williams seat, I think Frederik Vesti is favourite

Crashes aren't cheap especially at a team like haas. He is a great driver but not elite

As a KMag fan I would just follow Haas a lot so I wouldn’t say Mick was ever beating Kevin on pure pace on Sundays, a lot of it was poor strategy calls or the black and orange flags forcing him to pit early. Mick also got some horrendous strategies but I just really wasn’t impressed by him. You also have to consider that Mick is coming off demolishing his teammate so should be at peak confidence and it took him half a year to get a point. And also Haas has the tightest budget (them or Williams), they couldn’t afford when Mick was crashing because a lot of their parts are bought in from Ferrari so they have to pay more. Mick and Haas were just not the right fit at the end of the day, but I don’t see how he gets back into F1 at this point

yuki had crashes but got as high as p4 finishes in his rookie season, and was given a second season where he made clear improvements. mick, in his second season, the only time he had a remotely competent car, did a very meh job and binned it too much for haas to afford. his not being there makes complete sense.

So can Mick score 3 points by driving AT04 and finish p11 3times? No way. Look how Mick performed last year. Every Mick fan tries to defend his boy by being harsh to Yuki but stop that. Yuki maid a progress aginst Gasly in second half of last year. Mick didn't show his potential against Magnussen. There is a clear defference in between Yuki and Mick.

Mick and Mazepin driving like right muppets ruined things for drivers like Drugovich. Haas won't ever give rookies a chance after the horrorshow they experienced with those two. It's a shame, because I'd love to see Drugovich at some place like Haas. Hulkenberg is doing well, but a Drugovich/Shwartzman lineup sounds more interesting than what they have now.

Mick had some good performances in Haas, people are quick to forget he was an F2 champion which doesn’t happen by name. He was put in a difficult situation with Haas which understandably couldn’t afford his mistakes but with a team like Mercedes he would be given proper support and development to prove his talent is still there

F2 is increasingly irrelevant. Sargeant not near the title, gets an F1 drive. Piastri lucky to get himself unbenched. F2 needs to become a well paid gig and allow champions to stay. That will increase the value of top positions. Maybe even allow drivers who've done an F1 race back for more seasons. F2 is so unique in how it's set up...does it even help young drivers in terms of career? It's better to get into Indycar than into F1.

Same. Liam has a really good junior record in nearly every category fighting for the title. His F3/F2 wasn't the best but you need to be in the right team at the right time. Now he's in Super Formula with a good team he's winning and fighting at the front consistently... He's doing just as well as Gasly did in SF if not better and if that was enough to promote him it should be enough for Liam too.

All you folks who keep saying "give him a good team" need to wake up and realize that place in good team is earned, not given. If any top or high midfield team was interested in him they would've picked him up by this point. He's not an awful driver, but he failed to prove that he is worthy of a seat in F1.

I think Vesti is decent, but I don't see him in F1 even with Mercedes support.

Even more so when thinking that Pourchaire who is younger than Vesti was ahead of Vesti last year in same car…. And last year Pourchaire got many DNF and was not satisfied of his season. Vesti won’t drive in F1… Mercedes got another crack coming up … younger perfect in 2 or 3 years when Hamilton retire…

Nobody could get near to Verstappen in RB, they were all humiliated. Ricciardo was the closest to the rookie Verstappen, but since then Verstappen has become a real beast.

Most people on the grid would seem to underperform if they were Max's teammate. The only people who would be able to equal Max (like Lewis, Fernando etc.) wouldn't want to go to RB cos it's preferable for them to be at a team where they're the lead driver - and RB is just built around Max and no one else.

@@rowan224 Except Bottas was much closer to Hamilton than Perez is to Max. That is because Max is way better than Hamilton ever was. Hamilton never managed to break the records Max is breaking now, where the merc was far more dominant. The current dominance is Max', not the RB car, that is the main difference. To be honest, Bottas and Perez are of a similar level even when one is better at qualifying than the other and the other way around when it comes to actually racing others.

yeah. Most teams actually seem to be content where they are with their driver lineups. Alpha Tauri weren't, and they made the change quickly. It's going to take a very sudden shock, like Alonso retiring or something to even trigger something nearly as crazy as last year's

Probably mostly because the car has gone from 2nd best to 4th/5th so position wise theres less for stroll to lose against alonso because the gap between 5th and 6th best cars is massive.

@@teokotirinta2960 I don't think that's everything. He was ahead or beating him all weekend in Spain. Pretty much even. Last race he was much closer than the results let on. The timing of the pitstop during the wettest time of the race onto softs just killed Stroll's chances of getting higher up. There's also been a bigger trend of him outpacing Alonso in various practice sessions and quali sessions. Not a lot, but its becoming more frequent than it was. Gotta remember that basically for 1/4th of the entire season he was healing various injuries.

@@hideouspatje Calculating again, it seems to be he lost only 22 points. So he should be safe. (12 races with fastest lap @26 points = 312 points plus 3 sprints @8 points = 24 points, total 336 points, and he is at 314 so only 22 lost)
