The Sami people came to Scandinavia when it was already inhabited by the Norse peoples, many thousands of years ago. They apparently came from somewhere around the Ural mountains in modern day Russia. What happened is that they basically took up residency in the northernmost area of Scandinavia, because nobody lived there, and nobody bothered them. So the Sami culture and the Norse cultures never really mixed, as our ancestors lived apart for a very long time. In more modern times they became victims of attempted "Swedenisation" by our government, but this plan was later dropped in favor of giving the Sami language and culture protected status as a minority group in Sweden (likely the same in Norway and Finland too - Russia I have no idea about). These days, the Sami are primarily Reindeer breeders, and their traditions can seem reminiscent of native Americans, although like I said, the Sami are NOT the indigenous people of Scandinavia.

ABBA definately will not perform in Eurovision in Malmö! They will never perform again. They will most likely not even be present at Eurovision. SVT (Swedish television) will have a celebration on the 6th of April (to the day 50 years sInce ABBA won with Waterloo) but they most likely won't attend that either, not even as guests of honor in the audience. They have a deal: all four of them have to agree otherwise thay don't do it. That goes for everything ABBA! And they are quite content with what ABBA has done and don't feel the need to do more. The ladies don't want to be in the spotlight any longer. I don't think any of them want to perform as ABBA again.
