2 early safety cars, I think they're focusing on that because by the time the 3rd rolled around those tires were long gone. Honestly, I think without safety cars those soft runners would've used two sets of softs or even went to the mediums on like, lap 4. We saw significant front-left(?) graining during the second safety car period on all those soft compounds, that's after 1.5 laps of racing. It's ridiculous.

Perez isn't to blame for the crash. But he sure is to blame for ruining his chances of staying second in the Championship. It was a stupid decision to try go on the outside of two cars already going side by side. An unnecessary risk to take when the guy he should worry about was behind him. He handed points to Lewis today and will not be surprised to see Lewis second in the Championship with the races that are left. Redbull should drop him for 2024 or else they will be struggling to win a constructors championship with a inconsistent driver like Checo.

Ocon wasn't alongside when Checo went for the move. He was going for a simple pass around the outside so lay off. He was level with Max until Miami and he let that result get to him in a way he really shouldn't have, but in a way that was inevitable when he knows this is his best chance of winning the title. He also knows that his boss (Helmet Marko) is a biggotted racist who has never given drivers a proper chance to recover and that new Netflix fans like you who don't really have any context for the history of the sport would be calling for his seat if he didn't win or get close to winning the title.
@ayeeeitskev
@ayeeeitskev 10 ай бұрын
@@quintuscrinis8032 absolutely horrendous take, helmut being a racist dosent prevent checo from driving faster. Its not new "netflix" fans that are calling for his seat, its everyone in the sport and theres a reason for that. He's driving one of the most dominant cars in f1 history, and has only been in the top 3 in 8/16 races, thats pathetic. Hes going to lose p2 in the championship at this rate, to someone whos in the third/4th best car on the grid at some times, and someone who hasnt won a race all season. If you arent capable enough to block out all of the noise and do the talking on the track then you dont deserve that red bull seat. Getting beaten by damn near 200 points is pitiful, constantly being in the "wrong place" and making stupid and desperate moves because you cant qualify is pitiful. The bullshit about miami being his "chance" to win the title is absurd, you dont win a title 5 races in the season. Hes had 3 years in the fastest car on the grid and dissapointed every year, ricciardo's gonna have his seat soon, everyone can see it.

Mark my words. This boy will become a World Champion one day. Last time he had the mindset of not being satisfied with his P2 perfomance because he felt like he could've get more out of the car and now he wins the sprint! Best rookie since Lewis Hamilton in 2007 (or Vettel). Another McLaren masterclass in the making. They have struck gold with Piastri.

Ocon always seems to rely on expecting other drivers to do things, he moved over expecting hulk to go there but no, so he ends up crushing Hulk. You see other drivers able to react to what other drivers are doing and aren't driving essentially blind.

Here experts are missing the point that these F1 cars have huge blind spot, so Ocon only knew about Hulk being there and vice versa. Yes Ocon moved a bit right but he has to make a corner in the left, so it is upto Checo who was at fault by making it 3 wide. It was not Ocon's fault, either a racing incident as Hulk said in post sprint interview or Perez's for making a 3 wide.

IMO, for that accident, while not malicious - I believe it was Perez' fault because he created a 3-wide situation that had no chance of working. He was last on the scene, he could control it being a 3-wide or not. So while I understand that he saw a hole and went for it, he created the conditions for the accident to occur. Ocon had *no way* of knowing Perez had made it 3-wide. Perez was the only one with all the situational awareness and did it anyway (which again, I understand is a split-second thing.) So if they have to assign blame, IMO it should be on Perez.

Best sprint yet. All it took was for a track in the desert that is covered in sand to send people off every 3 seconds... There's very few parts of Max's personality I like but the one thing I love about him is that he just wants to win, he was arguing with his engineer about tyres because he wanted to win the race and didn't care about the World Championship.

I've been saying it since early in the season that Oscar would get a win before Lando, and sure it's not "a real race," as everyone likes to say, but a win is a win. You absolutly know this will grate at Lando because he's been sticking around McLaren because he wants to win WITH them, and I'm pretty sure at this point in time, the level of intensity in him for that first win will sky rocket because he doesn't want the headline---Oscar beats Lando, especially since he is the way more senior driver. All kudos to Piastri. When you glance over at the dumpster fire that is Alpine, I'd say he definitely made the right choice. His talent was never in question. I think it's always been needing the car to get him over the line...and now the real competition begins...Lando v. Oscar!!!!!

I think Perez saw an opportunity with Hulk and Ocon battling, so naturally he went for it, that is what he is supposed to do. No one was at fault, it was pure racing. Just bad luck that Ocon wasn't aware of Perez being there.

F1 and MotoGP could learn with WorldSBK. There, there're 3 races on a weekend, 2 feature races and a Tissot Superpole race, which is essentially a sprint race. All 3 of those races count as race wins. It should be the same in F1. There should be created a separate record which is for GP wins, but the sprint is still a race, not a GP and nowhere near as valuable as a GP win, but it's still a race win

The defining fun factor for these sprints is that there's not enough time for Red Bull's tyre deg control to shine through. Even as a McLaren fan I have to admit that if there had been more laps, Max would have eventually caught up with Piastri, given how they were trading fastest laps near the end.

Only difference is that Perez was on the other side of Hulk which ocon didn't see, however it shouldn't matter, Hulk shouldn't have to move over any further anyway, it was ocon coming across the track so I am very surprised he didn't get a penalty
