Our review of the Rigol DP832 Power Supply

The Rigol DP-832 is a 3-channel, benchtop power supply suitable for a serious maker, makerspace or product developer.
In this video I'll take you on a tour of the supply's operation and give my two cents on things I like and dislike.

What's the procedure for configuring the voltage levels on this supply? I've noticed that whenever I power it on, it resets to 0

great video mate! I bought this power supply and at the beginning I find it a bit difficult to go through the menu.. i find it a bit non-intuitive, but I am getting used to it. A follow-up video about programming it and remote control would be highly appreciated i guess. Cheers!.

The video disappear just shortly after I started it! Make sure you fix it. Now I have a question, can I test 18650 batteries on this unit? I know that the 3000 models from Rigol is better for that kind of test, but something can be done right? Even if I have to solder together something that would work? I can't buy both right now, so DP832 is my need before the 3000 model. Also, have you done comparison DP832 and DP832A? Thank you for your videos!

Great videos - thank you! Can you do a pratical comparison between DP832 and DP832A? Why would one need the almost 2x the price of the "A" version?

THey are basically cosmetically different and limited by software. There is a nice hack to upgrade the 832 to the 832A

RIGOL DP832 has 13-15 millivolts ch1 voltage display error? What about "you must pay 80Eur shipping" for in warranty item? RIGOL even grants official service for a local company that can only ship the thing to RIGOL Germany. Should I ask for donations to the official service center can get RIGOL 6.5 digit DMM to perform their tasks as service center? Need I remind you the DP832 is same as SP832A version with 1mv declared accuracy. What RIGOL does not want you to know is that after you buy the software key for higher accuracy you must also ship the SP832 at your expense to fix this "flaw". The numerous stores I asked to install demo key for high resolution to provide me proof that their SP832 boots and shows all zeros 0.000V failed to do so. They refused to provide such images claiming no demo keys are available. etc. etc. Do not buy this RIGOL DP832 crap PSU, unless you have 6.5 digit DMM and can calibrate it.
