5 жыл бұрынOur good friend Mo from the JL Life channel decided to drive up and, after stealing our old tube-welded factory sliders, decided to join us for a little ice and snow wheeling! We headed out to Eagle Rock, which happened to be a bit more on the icy side this time around.
Which, of course, only meant more fun!

God I miss doing that when I was stationed there in Colorado Springs. Eagle Rock was a very frequented trail for myself, and oh yes, snow and ice added to it makes it so much more challenging and fun. Close to there is another one you should try called Illinois Gulch, and it has a good obstacle called Moab Hill. Would love to see a video of yall doing that one.

I have ran these trails when they were dry. It was a bit sporty even in my '16 Rubicon Hard Rock. Thanks for the perspective with snow and ice. It is such a different challenge. Nice job wheeling and thanks for helping that lady that was stuck.

Your little doggie having so much fun in the snow reminded me of a 120 pound Staffordshire Terrier I used to have. Even in his early 20's (human years) he would stick his head in the snow, run as fast as he could, and the snow would go flying 5 foot up and over his head.

another fine video! yes-snow can make any trail challenging, but I'm pleased to see you two with updated foot-ware. And the advice about the lockers is good - one of the best statements I've herd from a professional spotter on the Rubicon trail: "your lockers are your friends - for 50 seconds"

Really enjoyed the vid, would have loved to been there wheelin with y’all. Last time we went out it was raining steady and Uwharrie clay turns into like ice, lots of fun. Had to Winch 2 people out of trouble, all I could do to get to them trying to walk it was so slick. Again great vid, that’s having some fun!

My jeep is an 09 bright silver metallic rubcon. Got jl wheels and tire from the dealer for free since the jk rubi ones on her were wearing bad. I plan on getting some bare metal paarts and clear coating thes some day. Ball joint are my first priorit come tax returns thoughb thanks to kevin.after those ill start wheeling again and maybe doing an instgram deticated to my jeep and our adventures. #ZoyaWasHere (in the making) lol

Another cool video.. Before I saw the end of the video, I was going to comment and say that I thought your hydraulic fluid was a bit over full, so it was just pushing out what it didn't/doesn't need.. But you beat me to it! :) lol.

Looks like a great trail, thx for the video!!! Appreciate the tip on crab walking in snow with your lockers...we don’t get a ton of snow in NJ, but have been in that situation before. Most of the time the lockers will improve ur performance, but that may be one of the few situations you don’t need em locked!!

ok, your JL seems being Unstoppable... i only see 2 options to that .... 1) your choice of aftermarket component was so wise and good that it expands JL capabilities.... 2) Kev is a crazy f****ng good driver with so much skills.... or maybe it’s simply ... both ;-)

Hey quick and easy way to keep that hydraulic fluid cool would be to use a heat sink cooler like Summit racing part number SUM-331000 can be mounted right behind the grill or behind the winch on the front bumper on the return line of the ram. Few guys in my club have used them with there hydro assist with good luck.

Your videos motivated me to finally finish my YJ lift. Its been such a nightmare of rusted and stuck bolts and cutting shackles off. No top and half doors means I finished it in the wrong season in CO though. Also, we use those ice trekker things at work. You can still slip on solid ice when they don't grab. Kinda like ice skating for newbies.

You guys should check out Bull Park, it's across the access road from the Eagle Rock exit. it's a quick little out and back, but has a killer overlook at the end. it's pretty simple, I ran it stock in my 08 rubicon years ago, but it's a fun woodsy trail.

Man, that looks like a lot of fun! Being up in the Northeast I have some opportunity to do that type of Wheeling but the winter is when I tear my Jeep down and do all the mods. I'll tell you one thing... Your videos really make me want to try a set of those Patagonias. Keep up the great vids!

Where up Northeast? I just got my first Wrangler and want to do some wheeling. JLU Sport so no lockers (yet), but haven't really found anywhere nearby besides maybe the Adirondacks. I'm in Upstate NY.

njmevec I am in MA near Plymouth. The majority of the wheeling I do is central MA or up north of me here in NH. Right now no wheeling. Jeep is torn down for an LS swap.

Love seeing a small group of 4-6 jeeps trailing together :) I know now the 1 thing I need to get is a after market 4 wheel locker kit to go with the other 18K spent on after market things with my fully loaded 2018 JK. Maybe I should of bought that 2018 Rubi instead :/

It is located on 80 and eagle lakes road in the Northern Sierra mountains and if you Google it there are more detailed directions for ya and you can also learn more about the jeep trail hope this helps ya out.

the less tire spin, the more traction you will get, by spinning the wheels you generate heat and that makes ice! offroad tires are awefull with ice so keep wheel spin to a minimum. you get the hang of it after 30 or so driving winters! then again some never get it LOL

Lol. I've been the truck that slid off that road. I've also saved 3 people who did the same thing, one being my friend who slid off the hill and got stuck on a tree which prevented him from flipping. That's a dangerous road on any day.

Hey for your locker flashing problem I think you can some how connect the electronics to something like a s pod to where it’s on a toggle switch and that way no matter what it shuts off without having to use the stock switch if I remember correctly a KZfaq channel called autoedits did it in his last jeep video but he also has a jk.. it could still be the same.....

Hi, I wanted to thank you guys for the review you did on the Milestar Patagonia tires. I bought a set this week for my F250 and these things are so quiet around town! I am heading out on a road trip tomorrow so I'll see how they are on the highway soon. 33" so not quite as tall as yours but I was worried about rub.

I know yall upgraded to the steer smarts track bar but do you know if the Metal Cloak trackbar will work with the steersmarts drag link flip kit? Im looking at getting the 3.5" kit and trying to figure out what all i might need. Thanks in advance.

sometimes low is so low in a Rubicon I always put mine in manual shift mode and I go up to gears to second third and fourth if I have to get more wheel speed and shift back down

Nice video... again, you should look at the power steering reservoir that PSC has and perhaps the cooler since you guys work it so hard it would be a good addition to the ram assist and will keep things cooler.
