In today's episode, we bring you along on our shocking and mind-blowing discoveries in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Is it perhaps one of Europe's best kept secrets?
Follow us on Instagram for more: / oskaranddan
We didn't really know what to expect from Bosnia, and we're so happy we didn't. We love traveling without expectations, and in this video you'll see why. From the fascinating and historical capital of Sarajevo (where WW1 was ignited) to the beautiful town center of Mostar and all the gorgeous Switzerland-like nature in between, we were left wanting to come back as soon as possible. We'll add this to our list of Europe's most underrated countries!
Also, in this video, you'll get to meet two of our best friends in the whole world for the first time, Kaisa and Ameera!

We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to change the course of our lives, drop out of university and live life full-time. We're planning to visit every country in the world before we're 30 with an initial goal of 100 before we turn 25. By the time of posting this video, we're both 24 :)
Bosnia and Herzegovina was country #73/197🌍
We flew into Zagreb, Croatia and began our road trip down to Sarajevo, spent the night, and continued onward to Mostar before driving down to country #74, Montenegro.
Thank you for watching!🙏😍

I had a fantastic time in Bosnia, such a special country, thanks to our exceptional tour guide Vekas from Bosnian Tours. He tailored the tour to match our preferences, and his commitment made sure we got the most out of our visit and the country, something that's not common among guides in Bosnia. We explored around 15 different locations in a short span of time. If you're thinking about your next vacation, I strongly suggest considering a trip to Bosnia.

@@barbiedoll60s for us to go through istambul it means literally to give a round in the planet. Istambul is so far away from Brazil. We need to go to United emirades then to Istambul. It takes over 2 days to get in Bósnia. Some friends of mine did it last june. Besides it gets too expensive. I saw a survey a few days ago that there are over 30k of brazilians willing to go to Bósnia on holiday but cannot get there. There is a flight from swissland but it does not operate from Oct to feb. There is also one from Frankfurt but it is too small and there is no place enough for the ammount of brazilians planning to come. Um my case, i already have a ticket to Split and from there I had planned to go straight to Bósnia. I only worry that it might keep being postponned given that I read every single days the news from Bósnia and Croatia and I have seen that people over there are refusing to take the jabs and covid cases are on rise. It broke my heart to know that people over there don't trust the vaccines. I think it might make it even more difficult for brazilians to come as we have a long tradition of foundness for vaccines and we are the country in the planet where more people way they will take them. 98%. Glad the antivaxx didn't get a chance here. Hope it will change soon over there. What a pitty

That was a smart move because that train ride is something most wonderful, 10 times better than taking a car ride. The train rides on brinks of mountains and into river canyons and then lands in Mostar. That ride alone should be official tourist gem, just like Mostar or Sarajevo. Cheers!

Glad you had a wonderful time in my country! Bosnia is definitely a hidden gem nature and culture-wise. There's just so much to see that even we locals don't see. I'm also glad you guys didn't experience any homophobia or anything like that. There's still a lot of homophobia and as a gay guy I was worried you'd come across it but thankfully you had a wonderful time. On your next trip, visit the national parks. Bosnia has one of the best-preserved temperate rainforests in Europe and the mountains, valleys, woods, lakes, canyons, and rivers all over are gorgeous. People-wise, Banja Luka is a lovely town with a beautiful river and old fortress and down south Trebinje is very charming. The Herzegovina part of the country overall feels like a different world from the north. But yeah, thank you for bringing some positive light to this often forgotten place. :)

I am glad you discovered Bosnia. I was there in both Sarajevo and Mostar in 2010, and it was wonderful. And that drive from Sarajevo to Mostar is one of the most picturesque beautiful drives you can take anywhere. I hope you were able to watch the bridge divers off the Mostar bridge. It is something to behold. Also, just about 13 miles away, up in the hills is the quaint Medjugorje, which is a town that sprung up around a shrine after some children saw a vision of the Virgin Mary on the hill in the 1980s. Just a very bizarre experience to see the huge cathedral that was erected in the town, and all the shops hawking Blessed Virgin memorabilia, and the dozens and dozens of tour buses full of pilgrimagers that come to that out of the way place. The drive from Mostar down along the Adriatic coast to Dubrovnik is also quite breath-taking.

I totally adore your content. Brightens my day every time. :) Question: how do you guys handle purchases such as souvenirs? Do you ship them from your location? I see so many beautiful things as you travel. I would want some unique conversation pieces to have for years to come, but certainly would not relish carrying them around! Happy and safe travels to you both.

Thank you so much Christine!❤️ We rarely buy souvenirs and attach more value to photos and videos (hence why we started making these vlogs to document our travels with more structure) than to physical objects😊

To be fair, as Slavic people we eat a lot of meat. You can find the occasional vegan place in Sarajevo but it won't be 100% vegan.

Great to see people visiting. Although, I think you guys are missing so much by just visiting touristic hotspots like Sarajevo or Mostar. There are so many beautiful places in Bosnia to visit. My favourite is "Bosanska Krajina", with river Una. You should chech it out sometimes
