Dimash appears here in the fifth season of Hunan Television's “I Am A Singer.” “I Am A Singer” is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers. The audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode. It is the same throughout the entire show; 500 with musical backgrounds judge the show by points each week. At 22 years old, Dimash was the youngest participant in the show's history and competed against these professional and top-selling Chinese singers as a ‘wildcard’ competitor. The competition consists of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months, and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live, and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. Dimash’s mother later said that he hoped to reach at least the middle stage of the competition. This was the sixth episode of the competition. Now you guys def need to react to Lara doing this live in the "From Lara with Love" concert. Lara is one of Dimash's Idol. The main difference is obvious that Dimash turned this song into a powerhouse performance no doubt about it, he does great!! Lara on the other hand is such a master at storytelling and conveying emotions through her performance (just as dimash is). However, in her version (after having reacted to Dimash's) you'll notice yourself a bit anxious at times because you want her to explode the same way Dimash does right off the bat. You'll later realize, if you think back and analyze it, is that Lara constructs a very well-paced piece of music and performance in a way that is so captivating and timeless. As you read the definition of what Adagio means musically, you'll also fully realize why the composition of the song is as such in her arrangement... it maintains that mid-slow tempo with great introduction of instruments as the song progresses. I was introduced to this song by Dimash, and quite honestly it was so amazing.. I later started delving into Lara's music and came to the realization (at least in my own opinion) that no one does this song like Lara does. I found myself always coming back to the original. By all means, please dont take this comment as a pit against both artist, I don't like introducing artists or songs with that intent as it makes the viewer/reactor view the performance with more of a judgement than just letting the performance be what it is and seeing how it can move you. Hope you guys can check it out in the near future. I'm sure a lot of viewers will also request Je Suis Malade as well, do them all if you don't mind! haha - great reactions as always, love the backstory and research, don't stop it for no one even if the younger generations get anxious/bored haha
