My wife loves this tiller/cultivator in the garden but now we got an update on it after 7 years of good use, the attachment for helping save hours of raking the rock off the lawn and after winter plowing, the Stihl Power Sweeper head for the m55 Stihl Yard Boss
Here is the first video we made on it • Our Stihl Yard Boss Cu...

This is exactly what I needed to see. Our private road washed in Arkansas and moved about a dump truck of rock off into a field. Looks like Im heading to Stihl.

What a good idea. I also have had mine for years now and it has never let me down once, it just starts and does the work. I’m planning to set up and do some sweeping in the next couple of days and will try your method of working.

This was a very useful video! We went out and bought one based on it. Works great! We have 350+ feet of driveway on a crushed rock road in MN and we got hit with late season 11.8” of heavy snow and the plow really got us good. In our younger years we would have slogged through with sweat and muscle and got it done, but not anymore. Thanks for the tip on running backwards as well, it really is easier!

Thanks for the great demo. I've seen lots of comments on other videos suggesting running it backwards but you are the first person I've seen actually doing it. I'm with you. Let the machine do the work instead of trying to manhandle it going forward. Also you keep the machine on the ground at all times and let the idle speed return you to your starting position. Most of the videos I've watched, the people are picking the machine up and carrying it back to their starting position. They're wearing themselves out. My motto is to work smarter, not harder. 👍🏻

I couldn’t agree more! That the way I have mine set up for years for the same purpose of getting gravel out of grass. I haven’t installed the wheels until today and I wanted to see how you had yours set up. Oh just a heads up mine plugged up its spark arrester and once I cleaned it out it ran like new. Thanks for the great video!

You are 100% correct. I have the same machine and run it exactly like you. People who run it the "correct way" will feel foolish once they run it in reverse. I don't run the optional extended shield and it is not a problem for me. Good vid!

If you were able to reverse the direction when using power broom with a handheld Kombi-Motor this would be extremely helpful. I bought the Yard Boss to use Power Broom and never even considered running it backwards. This will probably be beneficial with the bristle brushes as they are very hard to muscle around.

I have recently rented an echo power broom from my local home depot , then purchased a stihl kombi tool sweeper with the km131r. I couldn’t hold on to at all (for stones in grass), then I loosened the gearhead bolts and flipped it around to run in reverse. It’s a night and day difference, the weight pulls against my shoulder strap! (Btw I’m running bristles, can’t find paddles for sale new or used at this time)

Thanks for posting this informative video. The broom demo is interesting but so is the ethanol-free fuel recommendation. Ethanol absorbs water which can rust iron and steel. Ethanol can leach the plasticizer from plastic and rubber parts making them brittle and prone to cracking. [Cracked carb diaphragms are one of the main points of failure with small 2-stroke engines.] Over time ethanol can also turn into ethanoic acid which will corrode most metal parts. Ethanol free fuel might cost more to buy in the first place but will probably be cheaper to use in the long run. One thing I am curious about is if you did anything to lubricate the gearbox since you bought the machine. There does appear to be any way to add oil or grease to the gearbox without taking it apart. Are you still running with the original lubricant after seven years?

There are a couple of gas statins in my area that sell 100% Gas (usually the premium) Look for it in your area. The sign at my station says "Non Ethanol Gas" I only use it in my small engines. Have not needed service on my Toro mower in 10 years. People offer to fill my tank to thank me for helping them, I say "No Thank You", I use only 100% gas. Not the 90/10 that's available everywhere.

Love the video. Looking to buy a multi-purpose yard tool. You mentioned you own a Stihl trimmer too? Isn't there an attachment to the YardBoss that performs the trimmer option too? I see Stihl also has a Kombitool too. Not sure which will do the tasks I need (trimmer, tiller/cultivator, and now after seeing your video the sweeper too). Not sure how well either the Yard Boss or the Kombi would perform in AZ's rocky soil and/or through the chicken coops. I think I've seen the Yard Boss also has or had the option of a pole-saw attachment. Anyone have any comments or suggestions?

I have a few kombi motors, a yard boss and many attachments. The trimmer on the yard boss would be good for an elderly woman when used with the wheel attachment. The power sweeper is much easier to use when it is attached to the yard boss motor as the wheels help take the burden of the weight off of the user. I highly recommend these setups and use one of my attachments almost daily.

In the video we see how the KW-MM STIHL PowerSweep™ "Attachment" is inserted and the pebbles are removed from the grass. I would like to know this "Attachment" can remove stones from the grass 3 times larger than pebbles? Has anyone tried this, please share your experience. I do not want to buy all this equipment completely ($ 610) if the capacity of this "Attachment" is only enough for pebbles and small debris. I have a large yard with stones of various sizes.

GREAT Job love the video. This will help me out since I just bought this the other day. I am going to purchase the flap wheels this week. The only corrective criticism I have for you is your daughter should put her pants on the outside of her boots and not tuck them on the inside of her boots then it would prevent the stones from getting inside of her boots. :)
