Waiting for the rapture got me in present financial hardship, I didnt try to pay off mortage while working nor plan for my paying off final expenses and never got help from ex husband. Now I am retired, old and still have a mortgage and paying on my funeral arrangements since I dont want to burden my children with that expense. It is bondage and fear and worry to be in dispensationalist or futerist teachings.

My mother was raised Roman Catholic but converted to Christianity, but she kept her Catholic superstitions throughout her life. She thought it was "bad luck" to plan for your funeral and brought on an early death. She died unexpectedly from covid anyway at age 65 and had no savings for a funeral. She never wanted to be cremated, but that was the least expensive option for the family and the route we took. Superstitions and fears have a rippling effect beyond a person and burdens many others.

It makes me feel good to watch a video with someone who has been out of the message for 40 years. My family, who have never been in cult, doesn't understand while all this is such a big part of my life, even though I left the cult 20 years ago.

It might be more difficult but how much more critical for the person that is in a position of leadership to stop deceiving others and leading them astray from the Truth of God.

Thank you for sharing your story. It's people like you that remind people like me, (who left a cult 18 years ago and still have family in) that I did the right thing. It's still incredibly painful, as my husband and children and now grandchildren are still in, but I know, someway, someday, they will start asking questions about what they've been taught; it's only a matter of time. Until then, my hope is found in Jesus and what He accomplished on the cross. God bless you for shining light into darkness.🙏🏻

John, you are so spot on with the problem of superstition being drawn into Christianity. Always a problem. But as a lefty myself - I will mention that my Mom (born in the late 1920's) was naturally left handed. In the public school system however, it was the practice to require students to practice right-handedness. We now know that forcing that issue has unintended consequences - such as tending to induce a form of dyslexia. Hampered my Mom all her life. And something my grandfather couldn't rectify in his healing ministry either.

I had a friend who could write with both hands. His father was so brainwashed but nothing with teh Message or something with religion, but with stupid superstition. His father tied his left hand behind his back and forced him to write with his right hand. So, so cruel. Unfortunately, my friend died in age of 49, his father never visit him ... very sad, and he was so talented, he love to draw... rest in peace Mario

..around the 00:59 mark - we only change through great pain or great love.. and then Mark goes onto say you have to love the truth enough and yourself enough to leave.... ..that is so true. ...yes and also so difficult because of relationships and community..... its a huge bereavement... ...and yet with it there must come a freedom I would have thought.. God reveals the truth to those who love it and want to do whats right, scarily he hides it from those who dont... 2 Thess 2:10 They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

Yes, the Enneagram is definitely from the occult and directly related to the New Age movement. It has been sugar-coated in a lot of churches. Many ex-New Agers have researched this and warned to stay well away. There are a lot of good resources exposing this. Doreen Virtue, a former New Ager has several videos about this.

Some people homeschool to give their kids a great education and that is great. I homeschooled my daughter for part of her education for that reason. Some people, especially people in cults, homeschool to isolate and control their kids and keep them ignorant and that is abuse. It can be great or it can be terrible. It sounds like you h5had a good experience and that is wonderful!

The world is built on connection. I am eternally grateful I got to real school. It was INCREDIBLY difficult as I was only one in skirts, outcast, lonely but it was the only glims of real life that I now can built on after leaving cult. My teachers were great. Because of them I went to college and can support myself. If they didn't teach us to learn as it is key to better life I don't know we're I would be. It is always better to be with other people than alone in a room with mom all day.

It's a personality study. Many therapists use it to move therapy forward on a faster path and it can really speed the process and save the client lots of time and money. The basic premise is that we do what we do because of our personality. We can learn our own patterns - things we like about our behavior and things we don't. We can learn to catch ourselves in the act of doing something out of habit that we'd rather not do and eventually catch ourselves before we do it which can bring positive change to our lives and relationships. It also teaches empathy for yourself and for others. It can be a very powerful tool for change.
