Reading Terminal Market is now on my must visit list when in Philly next time. Thanks for sharing all these great spots. Nice work Steve and Young!! Couple weeks ago, we ate at Du-pars (since 1938) at Farmer's Market in L.A., not as impressive RTM but still interesting to visit and Du-pars has great pancakes.

@@steveandyoungno way I never had the one in Los Angeles Langer's, but Herschel's is definitely better than Katz's, my opinion and the opinion of several other foodies that I know! Katz deli is so overrated and stupid expensive it's ridiculous. There's no reason for me to ever go there again. Been to Herschel's many times though! To each their own 🍀

Reading Terminal Market is a great place for food. But i have to say this to you, about your comments about those Amish shops, they aren't Amish. They are Mennonites, whom are similar to the Amish. The Mennonites use electricity and drive Automobiles, the Amish Don't!! And In no way, does Scrapple and Chitlins, taste the same, you couldn't be more wrong. And John's Roast Pork is the G.O.A.T for Roast Pork n Cheese Steaks. But you are correct, about the Reading Terminal being Awesome for all the great tasting food n sweet treats.

We actually know the difference between Amish and Mennonites. I stayed at a Mennonite-run B&B in Bird-in-Hand about 20 years ago. And, in fact, if the folks here are Mennonite, they are branding themselves as "Amish," so we take them at their word. I agree with you that John's has the best Roast Pork sandwiches, but I prefer Jim's steaks for cheesesteaks. But that's a personal preference. As for scrapple vs. Chitlin's. you can have them both. Who knew the food scene could be so complex? ;-)

@@steveandyoung Growing up I lived in the heart of Amish country in Lancaster Pa. The real Amish do not travel in any type of motorized vehicles, and the only electricity they use, is for Milk Storage on their Dairy Farms, this is mandated by the USDA. Did the Amish bed and breakfast that you stayed in have electricity? If it did, they weren't true Amish. The farm that I grew up on, we had Amish and Mennonites as neighbors. I know and am aware of the difference in the two communities, and yes there are many who claim to be Amish, but unfortunately they aren't True Amish. I was in no way downing You or Your Video. Oh by the way, maybe you should check out both, Booths Corner and Downingtown Farmers Markets they are very great places to visit, and are true Blue Collar/ Country Folk Destination's. As far as Scrapple and Chitlins go, Chitlins are a southern staple, and they smell and taste like arse. Scrapple is good with Ketchup, Hot Sauce, Maple Syrup or Jam. Scrapple is definitely my preference. And for Cheese Steaks, in Philly I prefer John's, but Delco Pa. ( Delaware County) Has many great Mom and Pop Shop's for Cheesesteaks, Italian and Regular Hoagie's including Roast Pork. One of favorites is Leo's Cheesesteaks in Sharon Hill Delco Pa. Cheers, I do wish continual happy and safe journeys for Y'all ......

@@Oklahoma-Cayo-Hueso-Cowboy I did not stay in an Amish B&B. It was a Mennonite B&B. And, yes, it did have electricity. I realize that the Amish travel only with horse-drawn carts or walking. On cheesesteaks, have you ever tried the ones at Angelo's? We did this last trip, and we were really impressed. In fact, we did a video on it.

It’s a shame that it’s so dangerous to go into Center City Philly bc RTM is a great place and the food is AMAZING, but it’s just not worth the risk of getting shot. Wild Wild West down there. 😢

We agree. Steve is a little braver, and will go almost anywhere. Sometimes, getting shot could be worth it if the food is good enough. 😉 But Young is more cautious. She stayed in the hotel most of the time if Steve did not go out with her. Still, we made it to some pretty good places.

This guy shouldn't be doing a Reading Terminal review (IMO). He didn't do breakfest at The Dutch Eating Place and why mention scrapple if he can't do a review? The Apple Dumpling is their own thing...But usually a to go order. Also DiNics has the best Roast Pork sandwich hands down...why even bring up Johns? (even though it is good) There's no horseraddish in DiNics beef...its a side offering. Dienner's Chicken is also amazing and worth showing and talking about. Didn't even show Termini Bros. Bakery....Best bakery in the place. Also the Ammish Ribs in the back are worth a mention.
