We purchased an old 24,000sq ft warehouse a couple years ago and wanted to convert it into our home. Lots of blood, sweat, tears, and money went into it. Enjoy!

incredible. Would love to see more videos talking about how this project came to be. Any challenges you faced. and what things you did yourself and what you contracted out

RODA- thank you! On a project like this you are absolutely correct. Lots of unknown obstacles and things that delayed our progress. We did most of the work as we pulled the construction permits, however had to contract out all HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical.

Thanks for the video, great job! We just purchased a 6000SF transitional commercial property and are planning something similar. Curious as to how much trouble and cost you incurred cutting out and installing windows in the concrete block. Thanks!
@thepufferfam7364 жыл бұрын
MemphisTyler - it wasn’t too bad replacing the windows as we used the same openings. We did not need to cut any of the block out. If you do cut them out, in Michigan they require a metal plate across the top that can be expensive. Take lots of pics or videos. It’s always fun looking back at them. ;)

Awesome video! Where did you get your repurposed materials? And how did you fund? Did you get any grants?
@thepufferfam7363 жыл бұрын
Thank you! We used several unique materials and most of them came from the very same building. We ended up selling our personal home and using the proceeds to fund this build. We stayed in a camper for 11month while we built our home. No grants or city/state funds were used.

I'd say you did a nice job and have something to be very proud of.

How much Did you pay to get it converted to a residential property
@thepufferfam7365 жыл бұрын
fifaboy- it was built in 1917 so it was listed as both, commercial/residential. Certainly would have been difficult to convert if it wasn’t already classified properly.

How much did the actual location cost ??
@thepufferfam7365 жыл бұрын
Sean Taylor- we got a pretty good deal on the place as it was considered a blighted building with many repairs needed. $75K and then around $150k for the remodel.

@@thepufferfam736 sounds like alot .
@thepufferfam7363 жыл бұрын
@@LoadScreenYT ya, it was quite a bit, however the building was in horrible condition initially. The entire building is about 26,000 sq ft. and this portion is just under 5000sq ft.
