SAFE to check FIRST on affected circuit lines and turning it off if there's any, before making any cut on the affected plasterboards.

I love your disclaimer. I'm licensed in carpentry, painting, and drywall. I have people ask me all the time. "Do you do tile?" My reply is "Yes at my own home. I can tile but not like a pro." There is a lot to be said about a knowledgeable professional. They make it look easy

Great work, learned to wear eye protection all the time (the hard way) and using the knife to cut wall board "C" clamps hold down your guide reduces serious cuts to hand and body at ER Centers. Agreed, the first one is the hardest to do.

I mean the video title doesn’t say anything about fixing a leak. That’s a completely different problem. He probably assumed that you would do that but this video is just talking about repairing the wall which on its own is a task.

Great video and the result looks really good. But now I'm confused. You primed/painted directly onto the new plaster board. Should this nor have been plastered like the original ceiling? Does it not have a different texture to it now compared to the rest of the ceiling? Thanks.

I like it when DIYers mess up in a video. It shows that everyone makes mistakes, helps viewers prevent that mistake (we’ll be making plenty more of our own), and if we DO make that mistake, it helps us learn how to repair it. But most importantly, reminds us that even the best of us makes mistakes...and a mistake is nothing more than a hands-on learning experience and future conversation material. 🙂

1- fix the leak 2-Make sure the framing and other materials are dry before you close it up, Unless you want mold.

Is the black spots on the roof at the beginning Mold? I have some on my wall and the whole walls soggy and soft from an ac dripping on it only for about a day, but there’s spots just like in this video on the wall

Nice job. The only thing I'd have done differently would be to use fiberglass mesh on the butt joints since , while it's a bit thicker than paper, it doesn't need to be coated on both sides, so it sits in one layer of joint filler instead of between two layers, so the whole thing is a bit flatter and needs less feathering-out and sanding.

Are dehumifers worth using and do they kill mold already in a room or do they just stop new mold appearing also is salt effective and ok to use in dehumifers that have crystals in the top of dehumifer when Crystal's have run out I have mold in my bedroom and I use dehumifers and I dont wanna have to keep buying more dehumifers

I always use a hammer to smash out a fist size hole. I then feel around the hole so there’s no wires I’ll cut with my saw. Then enlarge the hole so that you can again have a look as you suggest. ‘Ideally’ do the former with lights and sockets power off, though not always possible. Thank you for the video.
