For centuries, an ancient curse was used to support the terrible evils of slavery. It’s a curse that appears in one isolated verse in the Bible. Even today, this misunderstood curse still lingers with us as a legacy of shame. Fortunately, through tracing history and honest examination, researchers have exposed the lie of a cursed race.
Another concern for African descendants is that Christianity is a white man’s religion, and that they should be looking elsewhere for faith. You may be surprised what a journey back before the days of slavery reveals about the faith of the African forefathers. In fact, it goes back to the very first followers of Jesus.
Many people who are descendants of slaves have returned to the continent of Africa in search of their historical and spiritual roots. But most aren’t aware of a long lost Christian heritage and identity in Africa and in the Bible. Until now.
Africa and the Bible seeks to expose the myths and bring light to some of the questions we ask. You’ll discover the spiritual heritage and identity of people of African descent through this 3-part program from Day of Discovery.
The journey includes:
Part 1: The Myth of a Cursed Race - • Africa in the Bible: T...
Part 2: White Man’s Religion? - February 15, 2021 - • Africa in the Bible: W...
Part 3: The River of Faith - February 22, 2021 - • Africa in the Bible: T...

I was taught as a child that my ancestors were great black people. I was raised as a child to never think that another was better than me. I was raised as a child to know that I was beautiful in the eyes of the Lord God and Jesus Christ. Now as a grown man I always known this. I was lucky that I had parents and grandparents and relatives that were good black people. Proud beautiful black people. Thank you God for giving me love ❤️

@@lishalou761 black slave masters did not mistreat black people as whites did until they partnered up with the white man. It was a different type of slavery usually as a result of owing debt and sold off to work or pay back a debt..or slaves captured during a war who then became part of their captors communities and had to adopt to those communities and not treated as slaves or outsiders ..they were not told how to copulate to make children for more slaves..were not forcibly operatd on for medical experiments including having their babies ripped out of their wombs..were not raped by their captors but had a more dignified existence by getting married into those new communities..there is a very big difference and the comparison of white slavery and black slavery should not be compared.

What is even more tragic is that this myth has permeated African culture. The belief that we're lesser because we're a cursed, hopeless continent. The cursed continent, the dark continent. I heard this myth throughout my childhood as a justification for my country's lower prosperity and economic progress. I didn't believe it, but just didn't know how to refute it. This was enlightening. I'm pleased that thanks to this documentary, I can now refute it, using the Bible itself. I wish this part especially, was taught in every African school. I hope more harmful myths about us are unveiled and understood. As Africans we should strive to recover the ingenuity and confidence that our early century ancestors had in order to move our society forward.

I’ve been studying English literature in America and have felt so heavy and at a loss for words about how “Christians” were at the root of slavery and brutality, the extent of it all. There’s so much to uncover but this insight is comforting to understand somehow. It doesn’t answer everything but it’s reassuring to know God is in control and he has a plan.

I never understood it either. It puzzles me; also caused me to be curious of who these people are if they are not humans like us, than what are they claiming to be; why do they want to divide races, and, cause divisions against ourselves? So, I grew up not afraid of fitting in but standing up for who I am, not only an American, a human being, a child of the most high! And, when Jesus walked the earth, he described his traits and physique that his hair was like a lamb woolly, curly, and skin, dark and lovely. I am, therefore, made in his image for he promises he will not forsake his people he came from. In addition, he increased his grace, mercy, and free gift of salvation to all races; so there’s nothing to be envy or afraid of! All people will be counted if they choose to receive the free gift of eternal salvation: Love the Lord with all our true heart and others and serve him. Yet, like Jesus, I do not need to forsake, or belittle , or undermine who I am, or where I came from, as an African descendant. My identity is respected by God for there is no respective of persons. God has no favorites. He died for all mankind to be save.

Well, I'm a white person who loves Black people, both on an individual level (the Black people who happen to be my friends and family) and on a universal level (in terms of having a deep appreciation for the struggles they've endured, historically and currently, and of course also for their achievements made in the face of these often unbelievable struggles, including the inexplicable ongoing enmity of the Powers That Be). I have done my best to be an ally, intervening when and if I could determine that it was the right thing to do. Sometimes, I've found that all it takes is taking the time to stop, listen, and truly understand where someone is coming from (which, if people did, there would never be ANY misunderstandings about the Black Lives Matter movement) and doing your best to empathize and, if you can, be there to stand in the fire when you feel the call.

Thank you brother. I was sceptic about the contents of this program, however so glad that you acknowledged the bible as a true source of history captured. The summary of the Bible is this. Mankind (with its FREE WILL), has chosen to sin. That choice earned him eternal death. (Separation with God). However God intervened, (already planned from the beginning) to gave mankind another chance, regardless of race or colour). Joh 3:16. Whoever repented of their sins, accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, will be born again, and inherited the future Kingdom of God, for ever and ever. Love you from Africa.

Melissa - our people? no such thing - we are all people from the human race. There has always been slavery in the world of every tone of skin and apparently now is worse than ever. Different countries in Africa conquered neighbouring countries and enslaved the people it even happened in the bible there are even laws about the treatment of slaves. Isreal were enslaved by Egypt and Assyria and the Philistines and others; it's not a new thing and definitely not exclusively an African thing. The trouble is people want to "identify with it" rather than really learn the truth of racist roots, then they would have nothing to harp on about. Man looks on the outward appearance ( that's the trouble) but the Lord looks on the heart. If he doesnt care, we shouldnt care and make an issue of it. It is a horrible issue started by some horrible people now is the time for nice people to end the issue......

The curse on black people came from pride. Just because you have a darker skin colour does NOT make you special. I am of the human race, so are you. Blacks were slaves because of a curse. ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭9:25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ [25] Then he said: “Cursed be Canaan (decendants from Ham); A servant of servants He shall be to his brethren.” [27] May God enlarge Japheth, And may he dwell in the tents of Shem; And may Canaan be his servant.” You don't even know your own history, nor the Bible. Firstly, I appreciated this video portion. As a multiracial person of mixed ancestry, I believe the hardest thing for many to understand is that the racial concept was invited by man, not God. In biblical times, people were known and identified by their tribes or the land and culture they were from. Many wars were fought between Israel and the nations, "Gentiles". To really gain an true understanding of who we are, we must consider this biblical fact..>>Gen. 3:20 "And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living."... The word Adam means Mankind in Hebrew. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob never refers to his creation of humans as black, white, brown, tan, yellow or red, instead he places a distinction between Israel, Judah and the Nations. Since Eve is the mother of all mankind, we are in all actuality distantly relatives. In scripture we can find that relations with close relatives is called sin, however, distant relatives can marry without a problem due to the process of distant genetics mixtures. We are all from 2 parents, Satan and his lies have kept us from this understanding. I believe if we as believers could only grasp this, this world would look much different than it does today. Oh we as fallen beings would still have some issues between us but it would not be due to a false racial concept but our own hardened hearts which are in need of softening by our creator and King thought his love and grace. Just a thought.

great someone else knows the truth as it is - racism never existed back then of course people didnt like certain people but a lot of people tend to not realize that it is as fake as gender studies. I praise God because the truth can set you free and this teaching as done just that for me. People who teach misinformation about are the Bible, I believe are cruel people. This was such an amazing teaching!!! I always wondered as a very small child at the age of eight or nine yrs of age, why we were the cursed ppl, why we have suffered so much and why were we hated so much? To Whom much is given, much is required. I’m so happy God created me with smooth skin, but All ppl are equally important in our creators eyes. Despite, our history of enduring and overcoming slavery, I NEVER believed that "black people" were cursed but, I was curious as to why white people hated us so much. As, I got older but, at a young age, I started learning about American, African American and African history on my own. I began to discover the truth! I ended up attending two HBCU's: one in the north and the other in the south. I 💕 HBCU'S!!!! However, due to finances, I transferred to a "diverse state university" and earned a BA with a minor in AA studies. Out of my experiences of discovering myself, I have evolved into a Pan-Africanist and I Thank God for this blessing!

You see, the Tribe of Judah is the Human Tribe of Kings, and the short story is, that the tribe went into captivity with the nine northern tribes. But not all at once. First, in about 500 BC, half of the tribe of Judah was taken captive at the same time as the nine. They were shipped to Africa. The other half of Judah held Jerusalem (bcuz they are the kings) until about 70 AD. By then Rome (serpent seeds/royal bloodlines) ruled the world, they seized Jerusalem, slaughtered many inhabitants, took the rest of the kings, and shipped them to Africa. Essentially, Yahweh kept half of the tribe out of captivity for several centuries until Jesus could be born! (In the state of captivity, ten of our tribes were not able to protect the purity of our lines) mhmm

This is a light touch and I thank the authors for the effort. The fact remains the Bible is an African book and 99% of the people in the are black people. Abraham, Issac, and Israel were black. Their descendants were and are black. The people that call themselves jew or jewish are not connected by blood to the original Hebrews, their ancestors were converts. E1B1A is the DNA designation of the ancient Hebrews, and that DNA designation is found mainly in the descendants of the Transatlantic Slave Trade and also in many African tribes in Western, Central, and Southern Africa. Look at the roots of the tribes of Ghana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, especially the Lemba and Igbo tribes and you will be surprised what you will find! I have truly enjoyed this little piece, having read much on the topic over the years. Our tribe is Luo or Acholic, hailing from the dark skinned Sudanic tribes. Cush rendered in our language sounds like "Chuch" meaning deep dark. The names of the pharaohs and even queens of old Egypt are directly translatable in our language once corruption of pronunciation is removed. It is amazing what one discovers right from ancient scripture and history. How did Ham dishonour his father? Whatever it was, the displeasure was commuted to but one grandson who sadly lived it out. Right there one sees lessons relating to how offspring ought to treat parents as well as how parents should be cautious what they utter over their children. The other thing I'm discovering is that the Greeks most likely stole a good bit of intellectual knowledge when they conquered Egypt and established the Hellenistic dynasty (Ptolemy et al). Pythagoras' theorem, Archimedes principle, pie chart...all these mathematical formulae were in use by the great architects of the time with their hemongous structures requiring stupendous knowledge. Where went all this information? Some say to the bottom of the Mediterranean, others reached Greece and other parts of the empire. It is fascinating altogether and I feel privileged to be from such an unusual race. We have not only embraced Isaiah 18 as an East African nation (Uganda) but look to participate in the fulfillment of Isaiah 19 along with Assyria and Israel whom we consider to be our older brother in more ways than one. Shalom All!✝️🛐🕎🕊️

The Scriptures say that a man's wife (her nakedness) belongs to him and to him alone-based on that it has been concluded that Ham (pronounced Hom) took Noah's nakedness (his wife) and she bare Canaan-that is why Canaan was accursed (because of the way in which he was conceived, having nothing at all to do with skin tone but rather immorality. what do you think?

@@carolbowen1693 this is not what the scriptures teach. There is no way that happened and Ham would live. That is an abomination, one in which the Law required death and not a curse. No, Ham dishonored his father by exposing his father drunken state to his brothers. This family just witnessed an entire population wiped out, and only they survived. Think about the mental stress on Noah. Furthermore, that curse was prophetic to be fulfilled in the takedown of the children of Caanan who were under Melchisedec. They literally rebelled against his rulership. Caanan the son was not cursed, it was the family of the Caananites. Hard to think that little study is ever done on the children of Caanan under Melchisedec, and this lie continues to be perpetuated.

@Amin Ali buuh ok. I haven't heard about this info about darood, till now from you. But one thing I know. I'm an Esther Incarnate, who was ruling from India to Ethopia. For I was born and brought up in India; while my father was born and brought up in Ethiopia, Africa. I also believe that my great grandfather was one of the migrated or according to the OT Bible, scattered, to India. And here's a little something about my take with Jesus. On 2014 when I got that vision and saw myself many centuries back. I saw myself in all that Grandeur from my rich attire, to the architecture. It was mind blowing and was left baffled. And throughout time till now. GoD patiently revealed it through HIS WORD and revelations to me. He told been that kept in the hiding to be used to do Great and Terrible things through me. I'm kept in HIS secret place ( dark thunder clouds) (Psalms 81:7). Now, you know how I got my free supply of Electricity 😜. I received it directly from Yehova. ADDITIONAL BONUS: Jesus also told me that HE honors my blinded strong faith in HiM and the sacrifices ive made in my life to magnify and Glorify my GOD in heaven. He said that I'm favorable in particular, for I'm still a unmarried, virgin who's a pure vegetarian and that when I fast; all Heavens listens to my petitions prayer requests kept under the feet of my Lord. And immediate action would be taken, unlike the delay for others. When I'm unleashed by GOD, no force on earth can stop me. At the moment I've concealed for that's the meaning of my middle name "Esther". FUN FACTS about ME: when my dad was in Ethiopia. His neighborhood friends or family friends were a big joint family of Jews. We had a black and white picture of it. My name Esther means to be concealed and hidden. It also means a star My last name Sheryll. The "S" is a Persian root. And the Name Sheryll means "Dear one" or " Beloved ". ( Jesus explained when I asked HiM if only David was HiS dear one. Jesus literally asked me to check out of the meaning of my last name "Sheryll") However first name " Mary" means "bitter". Jesus explained that as well. He said that I'll speak HIS Truth of HIS WORD with authority and the revelations of it whenever HE summons it to be Executed to me from Above. He also told that people will not like it in this era, for Truth hurts.

The documentary is really all over the place. The Europeans have long since abandoned the idea of black people being the cursed descendants of Ham. Since it was discovered Africa was the origin of human civilization and is home to the oldest and most advanced civilizations in the history of humankind, the ideas shifited to something called the "Hamitic hypothesis". The Hamitic Hypothosis suggests any achievement or anything of value or complexity was brought there by the Hamites who are a supposed subgroup of the Caucasian race who are described by scholars of the age as "black white people". When Napoleon entered Egypt in 1798 and saw the great civilization of Egypt, it was terrible news for Europeans who had no ancient culture to speak of, so they did what the Europeans have always done which is they appropriated ancient Egyptian civilization and wrote themselves into ancient African history.

Great job in debunking the curse of Ham. Let's then remember the curse of the Bride, of she who was divorced from her God, taken captive to the four corners of the earth. She who was cursed and forgotten is the daughter of Yakob, and she is preparing to bring her offering from beyond the rivers of Cush: from Africa (Zephaniah 3:10). Bring her to remembrance and you will remember you. Peace and blessings my brother.

It mentions nothing of race... This was really good to watch. The so called curse of Ham is a completely misunderstood verse. When Noah cursed Ham's son, he said it out of anger, he wasn't prophesying the future of Ham's descendents. Noah only said the curse because he was angry about what Ham did. Noah was being spiteful. Noah's curse is not a curse God backs or will fulfill. In numbers 20 Moses got angry because of the rebellion of the Hebrews and hit the rock when God told him to only speak to the rock and not hit it. God punished Moses because he hit the rock out of anger. Moses did something he was not supposed to do. When Noah angrily cursed Ham's son, Noah failed the same way Moses did. Noah said something God never told him to say. God probably rebuked Noah for speaking angrily and cursing Ham's son. The so called curse of Ham is a twisting of the Bible by evil people to justify their evil deeds against black people.

The skins were on the ark and had power and was handed down from Adam until Noah inherited it from Methuselah and Ham hid it from Japheth and Shem.
