Praying for you

I and my family are praying for you and all over the world in all the nations, especially for our brothers and sisters in Christ suffering under religious persecution. Most especially pray for the priesthood. God is planting His seeds and we must help them to grow. My theory is for every Catholic boy to serve at the Altar and I'd the Lord calls him he can come.Especially if they can receive at 7 or 8...why do we wait until 5th grade?

I love you in CHRIST and will hold you forever before the LORD. Especially your Bishops and Priest to be able to stand before the higer ups with power from the Holy GHOST.

Episcopal and most Lutheran churches have altar rails and kneeling cushions. Even other Protestant churches do as well.

@@bettye444 then it would be better for you to read the saints and the early church documents to learn more about your faith. You can also listen to audiobooks. Another good source of the faith is ludwig ott fundamentals of Catholic dogma.

Father, you are so good at explaining the Catholic faith and the core of our beliefs and faith. I always learn something from you, even though I went to Catholic School. You are a great teacher. You can feel the sincerity and love with which you speak. Teaching about what the word Christ means, ( that it’s not his last name). That Simons name was Peter, I guess I had heard that before but forgot, but I knew Peter was the rock. (I am 68 yo😊). That Jesus gave Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven! And I was like OH! That’s why they say , “when you meet Peter at the pearly gates! “ Particularly the way you brought everything together; about Jesus confirming that He was The Christ, that Peter was going to be the Rock of His Church, that what you bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven and what you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven , and finally that this was all leading to the authority of the Church. I never knew how to answer Christians that always say, ‘well it’s not in the Bible! Show me where it says that in the Bible.’ You just said it all so amazingly well. It really enlightened me. I am going to show this video to my 40 year old daughter who asks these questions too, saying , well how do you know that man didn’t just make that up in the church. We are so blessed to be able to hear your homilies on You Tube Father Mike. I wish I lived in your parish. Your parishioners are so lucky! God Bless you Father and keep you.

The homily is important of course and it needs to be precise and relevant to the Scripture readings of the day. Homilies need NOT be more than 15 minutes.

Alpha comes from Anglican Church I don’t understand how such a good priest wants to provide this program I would never attend.We have this program in Poland this is not good for Catholic people.Sorry Father.

I did Alpha several years ago… I was looking for answers to why Catholics believe what we believe… Early Fathers, Aquinas… it was not there. I found it was very emotions-based, seemed to be geared towards atheists or agnostics. Perhaps it would lead Catholics to deeper understanding to faith, but it certainly didn’t for me; I didn’t finish the program and looked elsewhere.

My parish is very big and they are always promoting Alpha, I've never done it before but it's good to know I can just ignore it and don't need to do it.

@@EpoRose1 Reluctantly, I took the course at my parish, being talked into it. Wasn't thrilled with it but I did like the lesson on the Holy Spirit. I was asked to join again but I declined not needing to hear the same basic things again.

This is so strange, knowing this I wonder why so many Catholic churches promote Alpha then?

Ironic that this video warns it may be "too Catholic " and then proceeds to recommend a program (alpha) full of Protestant theology; written by Protestants. The Catholic supplement doesn't change the errors contained within the program. Please proceed with caution

Even the “Catholic” version has been denounced by Cardinal Burke as Protestantism. Please research yourself before enrolling.

Not interested in ALPHA when first hearing about it, but finally persuaded to attend, I quickly saw that it was very basic and Protestant to the core. A long time Catholic and well-informed, it felt like returning to kindergarten much of the time. It does have its merits ( I liked the session about the Holy Spirit) and is probably just right for many people. I would never put down a program that helps people to come to Christ, but when asked to participate in the program again, with the same videos, I politely declined.

It is not his church. You follow truth.
