*Edit: Spoiler Alert* I love the anime movie soooo much. It’s about a guy and girl who keeps randomly switching bodies whenever they wake up. Looking for answers (as to why they keep switching bodies) the guy does some research and attempts to meet the girl at her hometown. When he goes to her town he finds out that her town is already destroyed by a meteorite 2 years ago and the girl’s past self has been switching body with him. Knowing what will happen to the girl (and the town), when the guy is given one last chance to swap body with the girl, he evacuates the whole town and save everyone, including the girl herself. And no matter what happens, the two will always be together because according to the Japanese Red String ritual/tradition, both the guy and girl are connected by the red string which makes them soulmates. In the end, when the guy and the girl sees each other’s face after a couple years, it it is confirm that he did save her and her town. But when the two finally see each other’s faces, they both feel a special connection, and the guy finally man up and asks her, “may I ask, ‘your name’?” And of course they end up together bc they’re soulmates.
