While stationed in Germany in 1991, I saw suede in a small club. I went with some german friends because my American friends didn’t like it. It was great, but terrible. The whole crowd in front was jumping up and down in unison and I was too. But I lost my balance and when I jumped again I was out of sink so while coming down a person in front of me was coming up. The top of her head hit the under side of my jaw and throat. Lost consciousness for a sec, got confused, bit my tongue badly...so I spent 2 hours outside laying on a bus stop bench bleeding and in pain! Great concert! 🤪

Thanks so much for this, Ryan. I believe this is the only full tutorial of The Wild Ones on KZfaq. Although you appear to have been unfamiliar with the band, Suede were huge in the UK in the 90s and I'm sure their fans who have stumbled upon this video really appreciate it. I discovered your channel through this vid and am now a subscriber. Your passion for music really comes through in your lessons and from the perspective of a beginner like myself you really make guitar playing look like fun. Cheers from the UK.

thank you Paul! Indeed, making this video was my introduction to Wild Ones. I have since added a few of their albums to my golf playlist. Still, I have no shame for mistaking them as 80's music - there was a big bleed in the "preferred tone" of the final product that edged over into the early 90's, which I also hear in pearl jam's Ten. Great band, glad to have made this video so I could become more familiar. Welcome to the party Paul thanks for taking the time!

Thanks so much for doing this! The Wild Ones is one of my all-time favourite songs, and I never realised it was so simple when you break it down, as you have done so well here, or I would have learned it 25 years ago when it came out! I've honestly never heard an Emaj and Amaj (OK, Ebmaj and Abmaj) sound so beautiful as they do in this song.

This was great, thanks for taking the time to post the video. As an unashamed Suede obsessive I would recommend "To the Birds" and "Where the Pigs Don't Fly" for more excellent noodly doops. Sadly Bernard Butler left the band in an acrimonious split in '94 just before I was able to see them live. On a more positive note Bernard plays some great guitar parts on collaborations with Mark Eitzel on his album Mr Ferryman and also with Ben Watt on Hendra and Fever Dream.

I'm pretty sure right before you hit that a chord, your chords aren't alright. It's hard to explain through a message, but I'm pretty sure those accented chords before the a are going to be e major, then F sharp minor with the open E-strings and the open b string too. Then gmin with the open B and E strings. That's how I've always played it, and it seems like the path of least resistance, so I honestly think that's the way that he plays it. I may be wrong though
