@Bungee Just the concept of the campaign in general and the way it starts. Trapped as prisoners/slaves by the Drow miles underground in a pitch black cave with demons being unleashed all over the place. It's just rough. I tend to be a little too lenient & merciful on my players though, which doesn't really do this adventure justice.

Great video! I've always had trouble with adventure modules. I've found that I get confused by them and don't really understand how to read them properly
@WASD20
@WASD20 9 жыл бұрын
+Mike Thepiper Yeah, I think it actually takes MORE work sometimes to run a module. I started running Rise of the Runelords last year (Pathfinder) and while I really enjoyed it, it was a fair amount of prep work making sure I knew it really well.
@FontofInspiration
@FontofInspiration 8 жыл бұрын
+WASD20 Agree completely. I put off creating my own world for the longest time because I though it would be more work to run. After running modules, coming up with my own stuff (occasionally on the fly) seems so much easier. I much prefer adventures like The Lost Mine of Phandelver or older modules like Keep on the Borderlands that are 15-35 pages long. These new campaign-length adventures are great for idea-mining, though.
@TheTerrainWizard
@TheTerrainWizard 3 жыл бұрын
I just bought this and I’m disappointed, once again, at how Hasbro makes modules so difficult to run. I feel like the second half of the book is not finished. Some encounters don’t even have maps. I also think a lack of text blocks is just lazy.

Hi there. Great question. This book is definitely NOT a great one to be your first D&D book. I would recommend the Starter Set or the Player's Handbook before this. I want so bad to let the DM of my to let me play an off the books character that is not Adventures legal. A "Redeemed Kobold" if you not sure what they are that is a Kobold descended from a good dragon or is of good alignment. I know you may not see the reason i think it would be fun but i think of Kobold like a Gnome crossed breed with a Dragon born. Mine is a Wizard and Black with a silver underscale. He is also a scavenging mage off of the trash pile out side of A major surface city
