I've watched 90% of your 483 posted vids so far (many of them several times). Your clear and concise teaching is amazing and on par with your excellent riding skills, not to mention your very well edited videos. I rarely comment on vids but awesome video and channel! During the past 6 months your trials tutorials, specifically, have me hooked on learning this style from the basics on up. Thank you very much Aaron. Always look forward to your new vids and continue to watch previous ones regularly.

To anyone watching this, then ran quickly to their bike to try it (like me) just remember practice makes perfect😂 maybe because Aaron makes it look so easy, I got really frustrated at the beginning. It became clear to me what I’m doing wrong once I filmed myself. Thank you Aaron for this gem 💎

I KNEW IT hi im new here and 10minutes in I was like waaait a second those are all trials moves/skills, then near the end you say you come from trials!!! Well played, clever way to motivate everyone to learn those fundamentals (that you are absolutely correct of course about working and being extremely useful and also will allow people to breakthrough to the next level of bike control) but while not putting "trials" in the video title as some might get scared of that OR assume it wont apply to them. Orrr at least thats what it seems like you were going for? Well either way, great job.

Great demos. "English" bunny hops are more important than a traditional bunny hops bc trail features come fast and time for proper prep isn't always there. Track stands IMO lead to all the other skills and you show that w the order of skills in the vid. The legs and arms are the true suspension in mtb, the fork and shock are just assists.

The order I learned this stuff (almost backwards)... ride over it, drops, hops, lunges, track stand, back lift, front balance point, pivots, front lift, wheel placement, wheelies. Back balance point and back wheel hops I'm still working on.
@SuperRiderTV
@SuperRiderTV 9 ай бұрын
I can see how that would work - it's a constantly expanding quiver of skills to ride higher and farther over obstacles. Doesn't necessarily build in a way that makes the next skill easier, but in terms of getting over more and more complicated obstacles, it's solid!

@@SuperRiderTV If you want to learn trials it makes a lot more sense to start from the basics. I started with road, then track, then fixed gear off road, years before mountain bikes existed. The hardest part for me is overcoming decades of contrary habit.

If you're trying to learn to wheelie on an ebike and having a hard time getting the front wheel off the ground, you might try removing the battery if you can. Most batteries are located in front of the cranks, mine is about 20lbs maybe more and it was really hard to wheelie with it in the bike at first.
@SuperRiderTV

Great call! I would be so curious to try wheelies on an ebike...definitely on my list for the next year!

Thanks for the tutorials, One question. Does the track stand still work if you are on a downward slope? I understand that it works on an upward slope because you can constantly use pedal movement forward and gravity to pull the bike backward. Would this still work if you are pointed on a downward slope? If you are making small forward and backward adjustments wouldn't that be harder to pull the bike backward on the downward slope or on rough terrain?
@SuperRiderTV
@SuperRiderTV 9 ай бұрын
You’re absolutely right that it would be a lot harder to do it on a downhill slope. Not impossible - but a lot harder for all the reasons you listed. That said - once you have the basics locked in, you can absolutely get it done, since you’ll have better command of the unweighting and backpedaling motions.

I'm really struggling with this since moving to a full suspension. The bike fits me so that's not the issue. I somehow keep losing my front pedal when I really try to lift the back wheel. Not sure what I'm doing wrong this time.
@SuperRiderTV
@SuperRiderTV 8 ай бұрын
My front foot comes up occasionally when I go to lift my back wheel, I find that I'm focusing ALL of my attention on the back foot. Once you've got that pedal scoop wired in, start to balance the focus back out across both feet - but also know that even after years of doing this, I still occasionally slip up.
