Another one for settling the leaves is to throw a couple gum leafs in the billy too. The oils from the leaf will help the leaves settle to the bottom and also sweeten the brew 😁 nice to hear that story Buck. Really enjoyed it. Love the chatter from the pink and greys! Matt

What a fantastic story. Stories with memories of your dad are always great to hear. It wasn't unusual for coffee to be made the same way when people were in the bush. This was before everyone had coffee machines with them out on canoe trips. At camp we always used the big stove top metal percolators. Buck good thing you didn't show you chainsawing wood wearing your toetectors!!!🤬 It's a good thing those humpy shanty towns and restrictions are a thing of the past. It may not be long past but it is in the past. Thank f##k. We are better for it.

I really enjoyed this clip thanks Buck 👍👍it was like I was sitting the other side of the fire having a brew and a yarn. The bride has set me up out at Geurie show grounds in between Wellington and Dubbo and has gone over to Liverpool England looking after her sick mum. It buggered up my plans to go up into FNQ for winter but that’s life.Always next winter god willing 🤞🤞. Still planning on being at the Goomburra meet up,spoiled for choice on which way to go up from here, may have to go west just to try and find a bit of warmth,it’s getting pretty Piccadilly down here already,I’ve spent a few winters in intensive care in isolation so I’m not a fan of the cold. My young bloke and his mates have been bringing truckloads of kids out to run around and have a kick of the footy and get firewood and stack it up for me,which I just absolutely love (although it’s been costing a small fortune in mars bars and smarties) hey what are poppies for if it’s not too spoil the little ones 😂😂. Your right about mobile phones the bigger ones just sit about with their heads down on the bloody things all the time,I’ve been going into town watching the boys playing footy on Saturday which is great as well, every game so far they have been absolutely smashed,50 to 4 was one game 🥲😂❤️🙏. Stay strong, happy travels 👍👍❤️🇦🇺. Bloody hell i just looked,I’ve written another novel, must have to much time on my hands SORRY 🙏🙏

Good memories Buck! 🙂👍 We never had tea bags at home. Always had Bell loose leaf Tea. The daily use teapot was Aluminium with a Hand Knitted Tea Cosy. Special guests got a fancy ceramic teapot called the Good Teapot with the Good Cups. Billy Tea was for when we were out working on the farm, in the Shearing Shed or out Hunting or Fishing. 🙂👍

Bucky old mate, nothing like a bully tea in the bush! No spout required on a billy- too bloody modern! 😊 Agree with the phones mate, leave them in the car - my family get pissed as it is switched off for days and the only way they can track me is via my in reach - technology is good but it is also shit socially! Stay well cobber!

People are stuffed now if they can't get phone or internet connection. So why go camping . Appears no one has heard about Ipods and portable stereo speakers for a bit music or get a good bush radio with am/fm scanner with a fine tuner dial. It's what I use. I actually picked up a radio station from Adelaide one night and I was camped 60/70 K's north east of Laverton in West Oz. Or down load movies onto ya laptop.
