When I was growing up I remember police officers Were almost worshiped by the citizens. When they stopped somewhere for lunch they were NEVER charged. A coffee or soda was on the house. People felt safe when they were around. My wife worked overnights in a local donut shop(no pun intended) where the local police always ate and drank for free. This came in handy at 3 am one morning when someone decided to rob the place. The three old men sitting at the counter were off duty officers who promptly ruined his day for 10-20. I wish to thank all Law Enforcement Officers for the difficult job they have.

I can't believe any restaurant would bow to some ignorant woman who was so nervous around firearms that she couldn't even stand for a policeman to be wearing one when he was in full uniform. Restaurant management should have told her that the man was a cop and he was in uniform and when cops are in uniform that includes wearing a gun and if she "didn't feel safe" they would happily box her meal up for her so she could take it with her and go to some location where she felt safe and eat it there. The woman was a few bricks short of a load and the restaurant management had obviously been taking stupid pills for ordering that cop out of the restaurant. I hope they pay a HEFTY price as customers, many of whom have Conceal Carry Permits and POSSIBLY have their own guns on them as they are dining at the table right next to Nervous Nellie, go elsewhere to eat. When someone is shouting and banging on this woman's door and is threatening to break her door down to get into her house and she calls 911 to send the police, I wonder if she will add to the operator, "BTW, be sure you tell the officers who respond to leave their weapons behind because I don't feel safe around them." If she is so stupid that she cannot comprehend that any weapon is only as dangerous as the person using it and cannot recognize that cops are good guys who do not go around harming people (despite what some jacked up media would tell us) then when she needs help she needs to call someone OTHER than the police. Same thing with the restaurant. My message to Outback Steakhouse would be, "If someone comes in and is robbing you, DO NOT call the police. They are not welcome in your fine establishment. Your food is good but frankly it's not so good that I will soon overlook this bit of stupidity." I totally support our policemen and I am embarrassed as a resident of the state of Tennessee that this happened in MY state. FOR SHAME!

Was a police officer, and never encountered this kind of BS, ever. But if I had, I would have left with my wife, and made it loud and clear that we would never come back again. When the $100 gift card arrived, I would have cut it in half and sent it back to them with a letter saying, "We have passed that point, and I want nothing more to do with your company." As it turns out, the few times I have eaten in Outback, in different locations, I will say that I think their food isn't that good, the prices are high, and service was ok. As someone who had one friend held hostage and another killed at an Outback Steakhouse, while both responded to a robbery call on duty in uniform in Dublin CA this just reinforces my commitment to never patronize their restaurants ever again. If a customer complains about not feeling safe because there is a uniformed officer present, then they (the complaining customer) should be politely asked to leave. If someone is that easily triggered, they have the issue. Not to mention at any given time one never knows how many concealed armed people are in your vicinity when in public.

This has been going on for quite a while. When I was a rookie in the mid-1970s, i started with foot patrol. Back then store managers loved having us around and joked with us. Soon, neighbors would stop me in the streets to give us info about criminals locally. Then in about the 1990s, we were not welcomed in two Starbucks and several diners in my precinct because we were armed. It seemed that they believed that customers were safe only if they were defenseless. Later there was a mass rape in a diner in another precinct, which is infamous and New Yorkers remember it well. I’m retired since 2000 and not sure anybody young remembers it.

Businesses under proper circimstances do have a right to refuse service. This isn't it. Back in the late 2000s, My GF and i were in the MI Army National Guard. She worked at that time for Sams Club. When they were going to have a grand opening for their new store, the manager asked if she could get a detail from her armory to present colors. Leadership granted this request. The detail consitted of two flag bearers and two rifleman. I was tasked with leading the detail. Since no firing of the weapons was needed, I took the precaution of signing out just the rifles and not the bolts. This way if the worst happened, the weapons were not capable of firing. After presenting the colors, we were invited in to shop. Since we had no way to properly secure our weapons, the store manager told us we were welcome to carry our weapons inside as we shopped. Cool! Still, a couple of customers approached us telling us that they were uncomfortable with us open carrying our rifles in the store. We did tell them that we had no ammunition nor were the bolts in the weapons making the rifles incapable of firing. Still that didn't satisfy the customers. With management permission we continued. Three of us were veterans of a 9 month tour of duty in Iraq. We were required to carry our weapons with ammo anytime we left quarters in Desert Uniform. So we all were very well trained in weapons and weapons safety. It is sad the the very few citizens due to all the BS in the liberal press were then terrified of anyone carrying a black rifle. Even Soldiers in Uniform. When carrying our weapons in public, on a base, or in a war zone, safety is a primary concern. Our goal is to only fire at proper targets in training or bad guys at war.

IF they are willing to push a cop out of restaurant just because he is carrying his service weapon, I guess they are going to do the next best thing, and let the robbery happen again and again and pray that it will not happen again! Outback is soon to experience a Budweiser moment. This manager needs to find the unemployed line. As a 35 year veteran of law enforcement and a Vietnam veteran. I will never enter the doors of any Out Back restaurant. This manager must speak for Out Back in their WOKE B.S.

I am a very loving and happy go lucky fella , if this was my wife and I with respect to my wife and the customers I would have left . peaceful and quiet , but now comes in my wife . Unlike myself I know she would have lost it on management ! I'm sorry but I know my wife and unlike myself she is very out spoken ! And would have made sure in her very polite way to announce to all in the restaurant her concerns and then would have dismissed herself ! Shaming the establishment ! Its her nature , god forgive if she was very hungry lmao ! I'm sorry but that is the facks my friends .... And I would not have blamed her as I walked out with her for the disrespect . .... And I know there wouldn't be anyway she would go back there . And that would be that . I would have to stand with her ! 🤗😇 ... Happy Wife Happy Life ! ...

The manager should have told the customer that the LEO and his wife are welcome. The customer is a woke liberal who feels that she is in control. This is very much like when a person with a service dog is asked to leave because dogs are not allowed in a restaurant. This is what happend when businesses bend to the will of people who really do not support the business any way. I hope the restaurant goes under.

There are numerous contact creators and lawyers (We the People University, Delete lawz ,audit the audit , Direct D, San Joaquin Valley transparency, Detective Matt Thornton.) KZfaq showing the police officers do not know the law they do not uphold their oath to the Constitution and Bill of Rights don't get me wrong we need police officers there's always going to be criminals but who do you go to whenever a police officer is the criminal. far too many police officers are using the tactics of a Nazi Gestapo demanding ID without reasonable articular suspicion of committing a crime about to commit a crime or in the process of committing a crime police officers have been trained because they got a call officers are violating the 4th amendment demanding to search inside your car or house stating if you've done nothing wrong and you have nothing to fear upholding unconstitutional laws referring to guns
