i'm running a tunnel Sea Ark, we run it trimmed all the way down no matter what, every time we trim up we lose speed. does that mean our motor is setup wrong?

I have a 2005 G3 1860 CCJT. My tilt/trim motor hasn't worked for 6 or 7 years. I run it all the way down all the time. Might matter a little bit not much.

Where would you recommend trimming it if you don't have electric trim.

Start with it trimmed all the way down. As close to the hull as you can get it. If u get some spray coming up from the foot over the transom try moving it up 1 hole at a time until it stops. But not so far that it hinders getting on plane. Sorry for the late reply.

Will a jet outboard work on a boat without a tunnel like you have

Yes . Most guys run flatbottom boats. The tunnel just protects the foot. There are jet tunnels and prop tunnels. Jets dont work well on prop tunnels and there is no benefit of a jet tunnel for a prop motor. Prop tunnels are deeper than a jet tunnel. Hope that helps.

They will also work with a slight V bottom boat. Like a Lowe or G3 with a 3° deadrise. Ive heard no more than 7° deadrise though. The idea is to be able to run shallow water. With a deeper V that defeats the purpose.
