CICT first signed on air in 1954 as Alberta's first television station as CHCT-TV. Like with most stations at that time, the station was affiliated with the CBC. The station switched their callsigns to CFAC-TV in 1968 and went independent in 1975 and would be known as "2&7". During its independence, the station produced a number of nationally syndicated and internationally syndicated shows such as Yan Can Cook. The station had also began to carry a large number of programs from Global. CFAC changed its calls to CKKX in 1990 and then to CICT in 1993 along with a rebranding to "Calgary 7". The station would later become a full Global O&O in 2000. Currently, CICT has the #1 rated newscasts in Calgary.

21:40 - "Hello Calgary" promo
¹I know the ID on screen says Lethbridge, but AFAIK, CFAC-7/CISA simulcasts most of their programming (including news) from Calgary. Marisa Antinucci only returns results from her tenure at CHEK, and I can't find anything for the sports anchor, Rick Bordoff(?). So I'm taking a bet and saying it's from Calgary. Maybe some Calgarians can enlighten me.
