I use those Rak enclosures for all my miners. Only suggestion is to ditch the cheap ethernet cord and use ubiquiti tough cable pro with ESD drain wire and shielded connectors

You made a drip loop for the LMR600 but then the LMR600 still enters the enclosure from the topside. Wouldn't it be even better to enter the enclosure from the bottom side?

Thanks for the video . Where did you find the lmr600 with male and female ? I’m using a bobcat . Do you notice a big difference from the lmr400? Also are you not worried about having the miner out in that case regarding heat ? I’m Cali and it gets hot I was worried about putting in a case thinking the heat would ruin it . Any info would be appreciated. Thanks bud

I got the LMR600 from eBay but I don’t think it’s a big difference from the LMR400. That case is going to block the heat from the sun plus we don’t have it in direct sunlight.

having that lmr 600 going into that tiny patch lead will be causing huge losses on that line.I would make it so the lmr 600 goes directly into the miner,great video by the way 😀

I just got one of these enclosures, and I'm trying to return it. The metal on the unit I received was extremely soft and brittle. It couldn't even hold its own weight. After I had mounted it on the mast, the whole thing just started to droop and then fell over. I undid the bolts and discovered that the ratchet parts had crumbled into dust. So I attempted to tighten the bolts by hand, and it just ended up stripping the inset. Maybe I just got a bad one.

@@CesarCinema It's a Rak enclosure. I bought it from Parley, but despite initial communication problems (their email and phonelines are down), their Discord service was very helpful and got me a return. If you haven't had any issues, then I suspect I just got a bad unit. Perhaps there were impurities in the metal that made it soft and brittle. I'm going to try a lighter plastic unit.

Those white cable ties you used to attach the LMR600 to the flagpole will get brittle and break from sun exposure. Only use the black UV resistant ones outdoors. I have a couple of those RAK enclosures it would have been nice to have a clear window or port on the bottom of it so you could see if the ethernet port lights are flashing without having to remove all of those cover screws.

That 'outdoor' ethernet cable should not be flat. The connection will suffer from cross talk interference.

I'm seeing a lot of different choices for the RAK blackspot miner. Would a Gigabit USB Type C Active PoE Splitter 48V to 5V IEEE802.3af Power Over Ethernet for Raspberry Pi 4 4B suffice for the blackspot?
