I'm building my dream outdoor kitchen. The process of turning a slab of concrete into a fully functioning summer kitchen space has taken a couple of years. In this video I cover the last two months which was the interior fit out of the outdoor summer kitchen. This is an affordable DIY build as I'm using using retro vintage tiles and second hand furniture. The summer kitchen is on the land next to my off grid cabin which right now does not have a kitchen. This inside- outside space has really transformed how I enjoy time at the cabin. The kitchen is protected from rain and I can heat it with a log burner on the cooler summer evenings and extend the use of the space into the spring and autumn. I love spending time outside and now I have a comfortable practical space to enjoy better light quality and the sounds of the nature all around. I'm in a wild nature park in the Morvan, France.

I like your colour choices. Indoor kitchens tend not to show the personality of the owner, but this one shows personality as well as function. Love your little doggies.

Hurray!!!!! I'm absolutely delighted with reaching 1000 subscribers. I have spent 1.5 years learning to film and edit alongside the cabin build and I felt like a failure and giving up youtube several times. I hope now I have gradually learned how to make better videos that I my small tribe will grow. This is a wonderful idea of an outdoor kitchen ! 👏😃🌿 often in my parts ‘ outdoor kitchen ‘ is only a grilling station so that was what I expected , yours is delightfully not that ! You truly created a beautiful spot for hosting meals or just enjoying the cozy spots to relax , just lovely ! From the electric line from the cabin for frig , coffee pot etc to the darling log stove , clear ceiling , the table right there and most of all the wall design is brilliant! 👏😃 in my area of northern mn I’d add screens for our bug season and it would be perfect ! You’ve inspired me ! 🌿❤️ blessings to you Katy !

Ah....yes I can imagine you'd need to add flyscreens and a big fan /aircon. Its not so bad here, some bugs in the evening but the blinds help. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it 🌿

Ah yes I think you'd need bug screens aircon and a ceiling fan. But hey you've got clam chowder and chicken fried steak to make up for it 🤩 I have visited several southern states and I absolutely loved it! Is the gas bottle same for cooker/oven as well as for water heater or did you have to connect a separate gas container to either? :) we are renovating @lithuanianhomestead on a budget and looking for off grid ideas and options

Hi! I have a whole selection of gas bottles and attachments 🙄 this is part of off grid life. So in the summer kitchen I have one for the oven that I also move when I want to use it for the bbq plancha, it is in the cupboard next to the oven. And I have a second one for the hot water which is under the sink. In the cabin I have two, one for the hot water and one for the gas fire (soon to be replaced with a wood stove. I try to always buy the same ones so that the connections are compatible but its not always possible. If you keep to the same model then you can move them around if one runs out of gas. wow, nice job. The only thing I would change is the plastic roof as it will get very hot from the sun (and it superficially warms up the kitchen... :( )

Yes totally it could also work with a solid roof. I did think about it but it was not so affordable at the time of the build. It would mean less roof cleaning for sure. I also thought about adding fabric or bamboo to the underside of the roof. Hope you are feeling inspired and thank you for watching ❣️
