This video was damn long, but it's also damn important for all new skaters (like myself) to watch! You really effectively teach tips, tricks, and etiquette that noobs would have to learn on their own, which would be a hassle for the community and the individual. I also really appreciate your progressive language calling things accessible rather than handicap!

It’s so crazy this was in my feed. I just got done roller skating outside for the first time ever. I felt so defeated because I could barely stop on my toe stop, let alone go over the ridges in the sidewalk (I had to hold on to my dad the ENTIRE time) . I just kept going up and back around my car trying not to fall. I used to skate very often in roller rinks and frequently went ice skating. That’s nothing compared to roller skating outside. SO DIFFERENT. I’m super nervous to do it again but your videos give me confidence. Hopefully I’ll keep doing it, despite feeling embarrassed from how bad I was. P.S. my neighbors just laughed the whole time waiting for me to fall. Which I didn’t. Because I didn’t go far enough 😂.

Mariah Bailey Take your time to learn and feel comfortable. Avoid crowded streets and downhills. I figure skated for years but that didn't make street skating less challenging. Try and find smooth surfaces to skate, and again avoid downhills until you feel 100% prepared. I am still scared of them. Listen to your gut and your body, they will tell you what you are ready for. Last but not least, use protections. Knee and wrist pads. Those are the main ones. Maybe a helmet too.

We are in Kentucky right across the river from Cincinnati and we got lots of smiles and waves from neighbors on their porches. This was the tutorial I didn’t know I needed! Getting my first pair of quads (beach bunnies) soon and I totally would have gone out and had some “uh oh what do I do now moments”. 😅 When I was a kid I needed stitches from blading into a gutter, this tutorial would have saved me back then. Thank you for the info and good vibes!

Thank you again for this video. I’ve been watching the videos, catching up as I’m a new skater and I really do enjoy all of it. And the fact that you do it with a smile, it really shows how passionate you are about skating, and how much you love teaching it to others. I really have learned a lot since I’ve subscribed to the Moxi channel. Thank you, Miguel, and all of your team for bringing these videos to us. much love!!!!!

So I have been deathly afraid of cheese graters since they came out and I haven't fallen trying to go over them, because i've never actually ROLLED over them... I fall all the time trying to avoid them ... I actually broke my tailbone in 2016 trying to avoid them and it always hurts... anyway... now I guess I'm just gonna try rolling around them and over them fast and see what happens! I've googled how to go over them but couldn't ever find a solution ... I was referring to them as "yellow bumps at the sidewalk for the blind" "how do I go over yellow bumps at the sidewalk for the blind?" --- i recently found a video where the skater did a bunny hop -- toe stop .... and I ... see falling. So, thank you ... thank you for an answer and for this video

I'm just starting to learn roller skating and I love watching your videos so much because you are incredibly in tune with the joy and playfulness of it. The whoops are the best bits :D And watching you run up that hill to go again and again! I've been scared since I was in single digits that one day I'd have to grow up and stop playing. Thank you so much for showing me that I am wrong as hell in your special way

Arghhhhh I’m so excited!!! I’ve been watching all of your videos and have been completely inspired to start skating. I just bought my first ever pair of skates, lemonade beach bunnies with light blue laces and wheels!!! I spent 2 hours practicing in my garage, fell over a couple of times but managed forwards and backwards scooter pushes, forward and backward bubbles, and the shoot the duck!! Successful first session I’d say! Definitely had the lower back pain but after hearing you say it’s normal I’m ready to put up with it for another couple of weeks. I had so much fun, your skates are incredible, and I love the M branding because it’s my first initial so it looks like I’m wearing custom made skates all the time lol, which also means I’ll only ever be buying Moxi skates from here on out. Thanks so much for giving me something exciting and fun to do xxxxxxxxx
