In preparation for elk season, I am fletching my arrows. But I’m not just fletching the good old fashioned way… I’m trying a new archery product.. the QuickFletch! It is as easy as boiling water and dipping the nock end of your arrow shaft into the water… or is it?!? I used to draw the same way you do and i figured out i shoot a lot more comfortably with my elbow up on draw

Drawing with the elbow elevated or drawing in an elevated downwards arc allows you to use more of your stronger back muscles rather than relying your weaker arm and shoulder muscles. Justin Ma on the Way of Archery's channel has a great video on using optimized drawing techniques from history (eg. military manuals), which helps a small-framed guy like him draw his ~130 lb traditional recurve war-bows: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i9x3dLxzss7Ge40.html And the first comment is from Joe Gibbs - a well known English warbow enthusiast who draws 140-160 lb warbows regularly and can draw up to a 200 lb warbow.

That’s what I typically use for the past few years. However, my dad uses Nufletch. You should check them out next. Elk archery season in Colorado is just weeks away!! Who else is excited??

Love how everyone has critiques, you do you boo. I've been shooting for 25 years and find consistency is the biggest thing rather everyone else's ideas of a perfect draw or release. Cam shoots trigger releases and slaps the shit out of them, but its what he knows so it works.

Quick fletch saved my butt a couple years back, my glue up job wasn't too good and my fetching came off during a hunt lol. Pretty cool stuff.

As long as you have your hand open you will instinctually close it upon loosening the arrow. Try touching the tip of your pinky to the front of the handle as well as the tip of your index finger on the front of the handle leaving your middle two fingers loose. Great video as always!

Good concept, not as durable as expected in practice. But they may have gotten better since 5 years ago when I first tried them and they were fresh on the market. Also they don’t seem to stand up to a whisker biscuit as factory fletching. My go to standby is knowing how to prep an arrow, flex fletch, and a grayling jig. I’ve moved to rustolum spray can cap dip, crest, urethane coat, fletch tape, and feathers (trad guy). But I still think flex fletch is a fantastic glue. Got to learn to put a thin line down the fletching, about 1/5 the width of the fletching. Its a thin line for sure, but too much can be as bad or worse than not enough. Without a doubt though, if you need to fletch in a hurry, they will get an arrow stabilized and last long enough to finish the hunt, or even season depending on who you are.

I shoot quickflech all the time. Solid product and very accurate, only problem I've had is sometimes the spacing of the vanes is a little off, but it's only a matter of cutting it off and replacing it.

That's shrink tape, basically used to coat electrical wire connector covers. In wiring use bic lighter or other heat source, but boiling water would shrink tape equally for better arrow flight! I've used these tapes an I like them! I make my own arrows cause I like doing that too! Thanks, Tim p.s. I just cleaned my arrows yesterday an was interested in not hurting shafts an I see you today thinking same thing, haha! Tim

I tried those before and didn't like them. to help you from grabbing the bow try placing your index finger on the front of the bow that's how I teach people to keep their hand loose on the bow. good video and keep the arrows flying.

Good product but definitely not the end all solution to fletching mishaps. Bad thing is they just do not last but does get you back to shooting quickly. At this point though, if I have a fletching issue, I just walk in from my backyard range and reflects at my bench. Quick and it’s done right and will last more than a few walk to n fro’s from the target. Good job and love your videos!

U can use D natured Alcohol to clean the arrows really cheap stuff u can get it at Walmart or ace Hardware also I use a scotch brite green pad for removing old glue or fine grit sandpaper just a tip to save a few bucks

I have the quickfletch on some arrows from over 5 years ago. They are great and cheap and fly great. Just go slow and steady with the dip, and pay attention if you get an air bubble in it. If you do just peel it off and try again, because that will cause them to peel

Looks good but if you can try not to pull your knuckle off your anchor point and have a little more follow through you will see great results.

Pretty neat item. I think I would have checked the weight of the arrow first then install and check again. Don't want it but around 600 grans with most of the weight up front at tip.

I had some arrows for my airjavelin that need the fletchings replaced from testing how tight of a group I could get so I picked up a pack of these and I love how easy they go on. Going to test how they fly tomorrow. Great video

i love these too, i suggest cleanibg the bare shaft well, maybe sanding, and apply some spray adhesive before boiling them on. ive had them silde uo or down before doing that. if they come out with 4 fletch veins id go back. if you mangle up a vein, just boil it again and it will straighten again.

Thanks Allie I’m wondering how durable they are in cold weather. You wouldn’t know that because you’re in the Sunshine State. Thanks for sharing I’m going to start building custom arrows. I use to fletch my own many years ago when all there was were aluminum arrows.

If you or other people are still looking, mine are probably 80-90% as tough as the factory fletchings but go on so dirt easy.

These are really great the package directions say boiling water for 10 seconds (which I did) but started having problems with cracking and sliding but leaving them in for a few more seconds solved my problem

Just a heads up! I would recommend taking your nocks out before putting in boiling water. That heats them up a lot and they can bend out of place and end up breaking

Thanks for the video. Good info. You probably won't read or respond to this, but if you have not tried one I recommend trying the Spot-Hogg Wise Guy release. Cameron Haynes uses it and once I tried it I fell in love with it. It is all I know I know John Dudley uses a back tension release though and have heard some good things about them.

Yes the quick fletch is great in a pinch out hunting. I noticed that when I put mine on I had to have the nock off my arrow cause the hot water melted my nocks a little and made them loose and would fall out when I shot. But they are a good product, I keep a pack of them just in case in my pack. I did notice you loosened your wrist strap a little also so it's not too tight. Did that seem to help your left and right since you put it on?

Sister, u need to get rid of those fmj arrows. They fine and dandy for target shooting if they don't get bent. But once they do, it's just like a old aluminum arrow, they will hold the distortion and won't fly good. Get a good solid carbon arrow and junk those.

Good draw on that bow straight back keeping your straight line it doesn’t look like you’re struggle with the draw weight. Solid anchor. Lol I’ve been using one fletch hunter release for over 30 years the deer and target never an issue. The rain ?? You live in Florida it always rains for a little bit between 1 and 3 o’clock

I'd personally use blazers over quickfletch. Doesn't make a big difference in flight.

you not supposed to pull the trigger you set your finger on the trigger and pull your entire arm back follow through with the shot. I think she's shooting just fine

My only concern would be that it doesn't look like the vanes have much of a helical. I guess with mechanicals it may not matter. But with the heads I shoot, the more helical the better. Looks like they hold up well though.

Shrink tubing concept for Arrows, amazing. Wonder how well it will stand up to the elements etc.. Another Amazing Allie time saver tip video. Would it shrink onto the shaft end if a hair blower/heat gun were used?,, curious.

Have you shot the hellfires? I just put a six pack on my practice arrows and I’m thinking of changing my normal quickfletch wraps to the quickfletch hellfires for my hunting arrows. Really good groups.

Allie, it appears you forgot to line up the odd colored fletch with your noch. -I think.

The nock should parallel with the colored fletch. It can throw your arrows slightly off from each shot unless they are nocked the same.

I tried NAP’s and the Blazers I had problems with the NAPs vanes coming off in flight the blazers however did great and flew more like the standard vanes. But good vid.

Thank you for sharing your tip on using a butter knife. It did as you said it would in getting the job done and not doing any damage. I was given an old vintage PSE USA Spirit and I'm about to Quikfletch some Easton 2018 Gamegetter II arrows. Original fletching are 5 inch but the Quikfletch I got are 2 inch. Do you think it will be a problem with using shorter fletching?

And next time you fletch notch an arrow and mark the nok that is away from the bow frame. Right now your fletch will rip off from the frame . You did great , I just noticed it from my arm chair

Heat gun works a lot better they don’t crack from air pockets in the shrink.

Hey!! You're doing a much better job not slapping your trigger. You could still work on using more back tension instead of squeezing with your finger like you do on a firearm. It takes some practice to overcome the mental thought of it being a "trigger" and that's why some people do better switching to a thumb release. But, don't be fooled into thinking that you can't "punch a thumb, hinge or back tension release. The wrist strap isn't the problem. I have a wrist strap on my hinge release. You should watch some videos from rcrchery. Especially the ones on pin float. Your groups will start to tighten up. Keep up the good work!!

I have the NAP ones and in cold Minnesota they didn't attach well. They're still on just super glued now.

So, it's been a year, if you continue to use them do you have any observations in terms of longer-term use? I was curious how they would hold up to a pass through

@@ILikeCatsMoreThanILikeYou No worries. They have been great so far! They did come off when Nick had a pass through on a deer this year. Good thing they are easy to apply!

I’ve seen the fletching before. Never tried them. The question I have is are they only straight fletched or degrees of angle? I had to go to a right helical to stabilize my arrow flight when I had to move up to a fat shaft carbon arrow.

I have a diamond infinite edge pro and really cheap arrows.. would it be smart to use the rhinehart target with my cheap arrows? Basically should i get a new target or should i get new arrows to use with the rhinehart target?

Either way should be fine! If you're going to hunt with it i'd upgrade arrows though!

Drawing with the elbow elevated or drawing in an elevated downwards arc allows you to use more of your stronger back muscles rather than relying your weaker arm and shoulder muscles. Justin Ma on the Way of Archery's channel has a great video on using optimized drawing techniques from history (eg. military manuals), which helps a small-framed guy like him draw his ~130 lb traditional recurve war-bows: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i9x3dLxzss7Ge40.html And the first comment is from Joe Gibbs - a well known English warbow enthusiast who draws 120-160 lb warbows regularly and can draw up to a 200 lb warbow.

They are good in a pinch but not a permanent solution,, after about a dozen shots they start sliding up and down the shaft

Does it still maintain accuracy at 100 yards as good as it does at 10 yards. It would save me a ton of time

That kisser button will slow your bow down a little may oughta try bowmar nose button. And also your your nose stays I the same place but lips move a little.
