Most things in this game are physically situated and the sector loading is its own can of worms

It's easy to get tricked by the scale of stuff in OW. If you're looking at stuff from within your ship, it's going to look small but once you're there yourself, you're getting to experience the true size of it. DB is the only instance of the game simulating a space bigger on the inside than the outside.

reminds me of that video of someone exploding ship's reactor in fish's mouth outside view makes you realise how small the ship actually is

the scale of stuff in this game is insane. look up the lore explorer. he made a video on size comparisons. the angler fish are the size of the attlerock moon for pete's sake!

Well, on the bright side, no engines means no anglers.

This is so funny to me because the first time I learned feldspar was in dark bramble the same thing happened to me, except it was brittle hollow intercepting my autopilot trajectory to bramble at mach 10, so my ship split clean in half (and took the medkit half with it...)

It just some object clipping exploit/bug. Both interloper and the player ship move at fast speed.. the game unable to register the collision between both object fast enough. Ending in the player clipped through outer layer of the object and stuck inside of the bigger ovject(its happen on many game that have this kind of collision physic). Of course its not like it has 100% chance of always happening.. If the game manage to register and calculated the collision fast enough.. the player ship will instantly destroyed (that how it should have ended).. but because the game couldn't register it faster... You got this video.

Auto-pilot once threw me directly into the Sun Station, but since I hadn't "found it" yet, I couldn't lock on to stabilize and ended up bouncing into the sun itself

Ig loading the hitbox and everything. The game has its little system for this kind of stuff to reduce lag

Actually, I think the only location that isn't topologically accurate is Dark Bramble, which actually teleports you between rooms (and sets your transform and velocity to a fixed value, so it doesn't matter what you do in the previous room).

You're getting tricked by the scale of things in OW! There's nothing complex going on with the Interloper, what you see is what you get.
