I'm from NY and Wu-Tang dominated the waves this time period; HOWEVER...when my boy lent me Aquemini and told me to listen to THIS track, I couldn't believe how ridiculously gifted 3 Stacks was!!! It was from THAT moment on not only did OutKast became my favorite rap group, but Benjamin Andre became my most favorite rapper alive.

This is a true story from Raekwon: I was in Atlanta 'cause I had a nice place out there in Buckhead, and I met Big Boi in Lenox Square Mall. He seemed like a cool, genuine dude, and we both were fans of each other's work. We both were like, "Yo, let's get up and do something." Two or three days later I went to the Dungeon house and we started running through some beats. Rae was about to do his verse, and he was like, "C'mon (Big Boi), get in the booth." I'm like, "Get in the booth with you?" He said, "Man, that's how we do it. Let me get that energy, come in here with me." So he was doing his verse, and we were just passing the Hennessy back and forth. The cup was spilling shit, nigga's necklace was dangling - that's what you hear, like cling-cling and all kinda shit. There was so much liquor spilled in the booth from him just doing his verse.

Anyways, i actually saw this show .....the mfkn ODB(RIP). After the show crew invited me and a couple other on tour bus, then partying on the 3rd and 4th floors , ran into Dirty 3× that night. But, i was tryna get me a groupie and shit like i was "somebody" lol (*didn't work) And big dude that was working with dirt kept calling me happy gilmore, because my happy drunk ass couldn't stop smiling!!!! Shit, i was 20? Hangin wit Dirt dog in 98'?!!! Btw; when we saw Outkast in Cincy, they killed it. But i wanted to chase skins after, my homie wanted to follow Kast to hotel. We saw them walking in, and CLEARLY said, "no niggas...(just chickenheads basically)."& i can't blame em at all!

I was so excited when this song came out ’cause I was a big Outkast fan and big fan of Wu.Southern hiphop was underrated back then and lotta heads think NY hiphop was real hiphop, so I was surprised that Rae did the song with Southern artists.Their beats were very different from the beats Rza makes, but Rae killed the beat with his New York style!

Raekwom coming on the track was a Master Lever strategy for Outcast. He brought the perfect pitch and rhythm. The most underrated cameo ever made.

Kids these days will NEVER understand what OutKast meant to Atlanta. When I moved to Atlanta from Nigeria in 1995, I was 17yrs old and the first few friends I made (and most were white, by the way) immediately told me…. “here in Atlanta, we support OutKast. They’re our hometown group. We never pirate their music. We always support the group by paying for their music” This was before iTunes. So that meant you wait till their album comes out, then you go to Tower Records and buy a CD. Back in the 90s, that rule was so strict, it was almost religious!
