The song "Roses" by OutKast is a commentary on the superficial relationships people often cultivate with others in order to gain things like money, power, or respect. It follows the story of a woman, Caroline, who is lauded for her beauty but overlooked for her personality. André 3000 is singing from the perspective of a man who is warning her that these types of relationships won't bring her true love or long-term success. Big Boi adds his part with an important reminder that women should seek out real relationships and not just chase money and status. Ultimately, the song warns against getting too caught up in appearances and speaks to the need for real, genuine connections and relationships. They were saying to them then, dont be all plastic, fake, money chasing ''bad bitch'' wont lead you anywhere.

I can imagine what you’re going through. Music has such an overwhelming ability to conjure up the past and bring you right back to that moment and with those people. But no matter how happy the old times were, while reminiscing, there’s a constant looming awareness that you can never go back, and that the song will end in a flash. It’s why reminiscing is, in my opinion, always a sad experience. But reliving and remembering the past and the people we love is surely a rewarding thing to do, no matter the pain. Peace.

yeah because back then you actually made money off music videos and people turned on MTV and there would be music videos playing all the time, instead of dumb ass reality shows. Now people can just download music illegally and the artist gets no money off of it.. People will never understand how good Outkast is and how much worse off Pop music is without Outkast in the game. They put out every genre of music, jazz, blues, rnb, rap, hip hop, rock, soul, country, literally every motherfucking thing, and they did it to the highest level of quality. And they did it while being pop artists. Compare this music with stuff that is considered "pop" today and it doesnt measure up to even an inch of creativity, the skill and the genius of Outkast. It almost enough to make you weep for the state of music....

I'd say they were mostly rnb instead of pop. Their earlier albums are more rnb and rap based but Stankonia and Speakerboxx leaned more towards the pop side

No f'n doubt. There's rappers, singers, MCs. DJs, hip-hop artists and so on. Outkast are absolute musical and lyrical artists in every sense of the word. The term "Artist" gets tossed around WAY too much in the hip-hop industry, should be used extremely seldom to not at all when referring to any of today's acts. Andre and Big Boi earned and deserve to be referred to as nothing less
