Jessie Edwards Totally agree with you. I’m embarrassed sometimes to be such a fan of this show with so many women focusing solely on that aspect. Sam himself has said numerous times that he prefers the combat scenes. Why not focus on those and the historical aspects which are integral to the story line as well. These lines of questions also minimize his work as an actor, focusing on his body, rather than the emotions he is so good at portraying. He put up a video the other day in gym clothes to promote MPC, and all the women were commenting on the size of his calves. So much so that he put up another video specifying that his legs were doing fine, thank you very much.

@@juliedurocher2554 No, he said that about his legs because he had run fast, he commented that on a story about the miles he run at a pretty fast pace. The video where you could see his calves was posterior to that.

Agree Sam is a beautiful man...but only focusing on him as a sex symbol? His acting is all encompassing...he is a terrific actor.

Better for her to ask nicely, and him give jibe answers, than the audience ask embarrassingly lewd questions, and make everyone cringe. It has happened before.

I liked the Geneva scenes as well, but that has nothing to do with anyone's status as a woman. What I really liked about that whole episode was that despite the fact Jamie was forced to be there, he turned the whole thing around and took charge of the interaction using his emotional intelligence (EQ) as a guide. That EQ told him that this spoiled rich kid was in WAY over her head, but also gave him the insight that she would never be able to share a love (or a bed) with someone of her choosing. It was rather like an adult initiating a child into conjugal relations, done as an act of kindness (as her sister Isobel later confided to Jamie) but one that they could both take a measure of comfort in.

I am not saying that's right, I mean it's there, one should enjoy but since that was a traumatizing scene that stands out well, hence my evil thought. Side question: Sam Heughan is an attractive guy sure. And I forgot already if it happens in this video or others...how fans objectify him, for me, crosses the line of flattery, and goes straight into the land of Creepiness and Ick. Does anyone else feel that way? Like if he were a woman, would the general treatment of him be seen as harassment? @@Abby-us5ee With respect to your observations about sex scenes, the wedding in Season 5 ep 1 of course featured Roger and Bree, but there were also Jamie and Claire and Murtagh and Jocasta, plus a lot of touchie-feely between Fergus and Marsali. Then some of the other wedding guests were also giving each other romantic looks and pats as they danced...Don't know if that counts within this hypothetical rating system, but sexual interaction was, if not outright explicit, then certainly implied. Given what I know of Sam Heughan, he would never mean to suggest that Claire's rape at the end was in any way sexy or romantic. Believe also the director made sure that the horror of the situation was not lost on the viewer. I don't know how anyone viewing that could be titillated in any way. As to your follow-on question about the interest in Sam bordering on harrassment, believe you are correct. The objectification of anyone--male or female--is a travesty that crosses the line, denying that person his/her right to privacy and their unique individuality. It seems to me it is incumbent on all people to respect those rights.
