Maharsha was wrong, I doesn’t sound like he was black. Otherwise, we’re saying the Talmud is calling black people ugly which would be strange given the moral of the story. Two, he did something to him, not his town. I’m assuming in those days if you were black you would live with your own. Three, if shaming means someone turns red, that doesn’t quite work with people of color, no offense. Also, in those days, if they saw someone black, you made a bracha. Four, Moshe Rabeinu married woman of color and Miriam was punished for her racist comments. It’s so basic that a rabbi at the madregah would know better. I do, and I’m not that well versed but then again so should Miriam, so my last point doesn’t really count
