As a Scot, I found this movie great and emotional I much prefer it to braveheart. I do think us Scots will alway have a deeper connection to it then others, we grow up learning about Robert the Bruce and his battles. There’s even a part in our national anthem about him.

O flower of Scotland When will we see, your like again That fought and died for Yer wee bit hill and glen And stood against him Proud Edward's army And sent him homeward Tae think again The hills are bare now And autumn leaves lie thick and still For land that is lost now Which those so dearly held And stood against him Proud Edward's army And sent him homeward Tae think again Those days are past now And in the past, they must remain But we can still rise now And be the nation again That stood against him Proud Edward's Army And sent him homeward Tae think again The hills are bare now And autumn leaves lie thick and still For land that is lost now Which those so dearly held Oh Flower Of Scotland When will we see Yer like again That fought and died for Yer wee bit hill and glen And stood against him Proud Edward's Army And sent him homeward Tae think again

Robert the Bruce was a warrior king of Scotland. Like Wallace, both are Scottish icons.

Unlike Braveheart, this is pretty close to actual events, even down to his wife being exposed from the walls of Berwick and the war wolf catapult.

Robert the Bruce was braveheart, not Wallace.

Yes! It was Robert the Bruce that got given the name braveheart!

I know this is an old video, but I just find it funny that you mentioned Game of Thrones because the last battle here is how John planned the Battle of the Bastards to go before they moved out of position.

Seeing William Wallaces head and severed arm posted in London and in the Scottish village really made me uneasy as a Scottish man, shows just how evil king Edward really was honestly makes me feel sick one of if not Scotland’s greatest hero along with Robert the Bruce showed off cut to pieces and showboated around Britain.

Really enjoyed your video! I think not having Wallace in the film was a smart idea. He becomes an idea/symbol to the audience rather than just an ordinary man. Robert the Bruce was more like this portrayal of Black Douglas (hot tempered and charismatic). They probably wanted variation and so made the elder Robert more subdued. Changing Douglas might have resulted in a petulant teen and that would be such an insult to the man

Well as Scot I enjoyed this film thoroughly!👍😀 Great reaction and commentary 😃 One tiny (and it is tiny) criticism - in the epilogue we're shown/told what happened to Robert and his wife (they live happily ever after...). But.... there's no mention of his daughter, whom last we saw was being hauled off to a priory. What happened to her?🤔 It's almost as if the writers/producers forgot about her.😒

Oh yeah I need to watch it again. Robert mentioned briefly to Elizabeth that his daughter is coming. Welcome to the channel!

Makes me sad that most didn’t get to experience Outlaw King on the big screen. Here in Edinburgh we got the opportunity to see it in Edinburgh’s Film House and I got to say it’s a hundred times more intense but in the best possible way! The movie score, the locations in Scotland and the emotional tie that every Scotsman has to our past is multiplied on every level. Makes you dam proud to be Scottish, it’s 2019 and we are STILL fighting for freedom but only this time it’s negotiated with words. Maybe it’s time to fight like wolves again!!! 🏴🤪🏴

The fact long shanks really wouldnt let the scottish surrender until he got to fire his 350+ foot tall trebuchet is a pretty boss move tbf. One shot deatroyed the entire wall of the castle

The dragon banner is like an elite army of knights who are basically barbaric, they don't follow the code of being a noble knight, being chivalrous or helping the people. They basically are given permission by the king to be savage and do whatever they have to do, whatever they want. Thats how i c it, i could be wrong. I read it somewhere i could be half wrong.
@ScreenBusters5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I can see that.

@@ScreenBusters raising the dragon banner meant no rules, everyone, man woman and children killed and the whim of a weak and hopeless man who becomes the king and 7 year later he lost Scotland or should i say ROBERT WON US OUR INDEPENDENCE BACK

Scotland is the most beautiful country in the world, not being biased or anything. I live 5 minutes away from the wee fishing village that is the New Asgard in the Marvel Universe.

Loved this movie, great reaction, i was searching for channels that react to movies instead of just series. If not much intrusion i have a tip for you guys, change the font for the thumbnails, something thicker like the fonts Keep Calm or Lemon Milk give a more clean design, more attractive.

I hope some historian confirms or denies this but from all I read, Robert's queen actually learned to deeply love him, something that was rare in those times! I'm an incurable romantic, sorry...
@leonmcnair461511 ай бұрын
It is true, they did have a deep and impactful relationship. And she does support him, much of it is seen in the film, though the accuracy is slightly condensed to make it a film.
